The guidelines are now online for participation in the fourth edition of the competition that allows designers, artisans, fashion designers, artists and makers to show and sell their works without intermediation. The event for 2013 will be held at Terminal San Basilio in Venice from22 to 24 November. Founded in 2010 – based on an idea of Elena Santi and Laura Succini, curators of the event, with the expert consulting of Valentina Croci– Open Design Italia explores the national and international panorama of self-production in an unusual way: a way of making design in which creative activity is directly connected to production. The projects will be selected based on: originality and typological innovation, technical and aesthetic functioning, feasibility of sale on the market. Particular attention will be paid to the link between the project and the territory, and with local productive resources, as well as the sustainability of the production chain. Three prizes are up for grabs: Open Design Italia, Ottagono and Prezi. Individuals or groups can participate, free of charge. To register, fill out the form at the site www.opendesignitalia.net.
