A structure weighing 12 tons, 64 meters long, over 4 meters high, for a total of one kilometer of iron pipe and 320 tubular bells: the new artistic adventure of Yuval Avital is called Open Fence, the biggest sound sculpture ever made in Italy.
Starting with an iron pipe enclosure by the designer Mario Milana, the multimedia artist has transformed this architectural object into an instrument everyone can play, in a sound ritual on 21 June, the summer solstice, at East End Studios.
The percussion ensemble of Conservatorio “G. Verdi” of Milan takes part, conducted by Andrea Dulbecco.
