Between architecture and nature, personal well-being and urban biodiversity, Pedrali furnishings set up Bergamo Alta for “Landscape Festival - I Maestri del Paesaggio 2022”

An essential appointment in September, for the eighth year, Pedrali takes part in Landscape Festival - I Maestri del Paesaggio, the event organized by Arketipos along with the town council of Bergamo and Regione Lombardia that brings to the city (Alta) the best designers and the most interesting expressions of the international landscaping.

From 8 to 25 September, Bergamo is at the center of landscape culture and Piazza Vecchia, the heart of the Upper Town, turning into a stage of historical, architectural and natural suggestions.

Forgotten Landscape

Twelfth edition of the festival is dedicated to Forgotten Landscape, a theme aimed at raising awareness on how the landscape influences and drives us, highlighting how fundamental it is to start from the territory we are in to emphasise and support the local roots, the “Genius Loci”.

Cassian Schmidt, the internationally renowned landscape and plant designer, signs the Green Square in partnership with the students from Weihenstephan - Triesdorf University.

Piazza Vecchia

The set-up of Piazza Vecchia (Old Square), heart of the event, features Pedrali outdoor products: Nolita chairs, armchairs and sofas and Elliot tables.

Pedrali and made in Italy sustainability

Italian company of contemporary design furniture for contract and home (seatings, tables, complements and lighting exclusively manufactured in Italy), Pedrali stands out for the internal production carried out in the headquarters of Mornico al Serio (Bergamo), where the automated warehouse designed by architect Cino Zucchi is based, and in the wood division in Manzano (Udine).

For the brand, the high quality made in Italy and respect for the environment represent long-established practices, expressed in numerous choices attested by international certifications. Choices that, besides being productive, support initiatives - natural - virtuous, concrete, like Landascape Festival.

The collections that set up Piazza Vecchia

Designed by CMP Design, Nolita evokes the origins of the company founded in the Sixties by Mario Pedrali who, inside its craft workshop, began to produce his first outdoor collections of wrought iron seats. Entirely made of steel, this collection features simple and iconic shapes, while being extremely versatile and embodying the concepts of transparency and lightness.

Elliot tables, designed by Patrick Jouin, have an elegant silhouette and sinuous natural forms. The three- lobed column in extruded aluminium narrows down and splits open to form three feet in die-cast aluminium, which elegantly sit on the floor.

Antico Lavatoio

Green Design is staged in the most impressive sites of Città Alta including the Antico Lavatoio. In this setting of exceptional beauty, Pedrali realises an exhibition curated by Olos Atelier and Raffaele Orrù titled To the Origins, in partnership with Antica Pieve Azienda agricola and Associazione Italiana Professionisti del Verde AIPV.

Wellness and biodiversity

Antico Lavatoio is an historical and evocative place reinterpreted to experience spaces while enhancing its ancient vocation in a contemporary key, in which nature becomes protagonist supported by systems and strategies aimed at sustainably protecting and managing ecosystems. The project fosters people’s wellbeing and contributes to the increasing biodiversity in urban contexts.

Design, memory and suggestions

Remind polypropylene armchairs designed by Eugeni Quitllet, evoke the soft sinuous curves of wooden chairs from the late 19th century and take the scene together with Ara lounge armchairs designed by Jorge Pensi Design Studio, with their refined and well-balanced language, paired with Elliot tables designed by Patrick Jouin. Time Out and Happy Apple lamps, designed by Basaglia Rota Nodari, light up the environment.
