The conscious fashion photography festival presents six exhibitions at Base Milano and a rich program of events in the main art galleries of the city and online and offline conversations

From 17 to 20 November 2022 PhotoVogue Festival returns to Milan, the conscious fashion photography festival that focuses on elements in common with ethics and aesthetics.

Six exhibitions on display in the spaces of Base Milan , to which is added a rich program of events in the main galleries of 'a rte of the city and of online and offline conversations.

The contradiction of overexposure

For its seventh edition, the festival presents digital exhibitions, conversations, events and panels on the PhotoVogue platform with more than 50 artists from all over the world.

In the center the contradiction of overexposure”: a debate on how the ubiquity of images shapes our ability to perceive them emotionally, read them and truly understand them.

The ‘normalizing’ effect

Alessia Glaviano, Head of Global PhotoVogue and director of the Festival, in fact asked herself what American critics would say today Susan Sontag on the 'normalizing' effect produced by repeated, pounding and careless exposure to the content of the images, often the result of compulsive scrolling, rapid and seamless, from your smartphone.

A culturally more inclusive world

Alongside the exhibitions dedicated to social and political themes, the festival also stages conscious fashion photography with artists who propel change through images and films to build a world culturally more inclusive.

The different appointments

Many events scheduled, including the lectio magistralis Teach Us to Outgrow our Madness by Alfredo Jaar entitled which will open the festival Wednesday 16 November at 6.30 pm, a talk with the intellectual David Rieff David Rieff, the panels with Fred Ritchin, Yashica Olden, Yelena Yemchuk, Aïda Muluneh, Roe Ethridge, Misan Harriman, Emanuele Coccia, Gabriele Galimberti, Maria Luisa Frisa and much more.
