Vitra Design Museum presents a major overview of the versatile work of Ron Arad.
Armchairs made with old car seats, innovative projects in carbon fiber, steel cabinets welded by hand, sculptural products: the works of Ron Arad put conventional boundaries to the test.
The solo show includes many of the early works from the 1980s, as well as more recent products in which his experimental approach shifts into the field of industrial production.
One of the high points of the exhibition Ron Arad: Yes to the Uncommon! is the spectacular machinery of Sticks and Stones from 1987.
Devouring chairs and metal objects and then expelling them in the form of pressed blocks, the device performs an act of deconstruction through which Arad casts a critical light on the culture of consumption and the role of the designer.
Uno degli pezzi più significativi della mostra Ron Arad: Yes to the Uncommon! è la spettacolare macchina Sticks and Stones del 1987.
