Through a selection of over 100 major works, Centre Pompidoupresents the first complete retrospective of the work of Roy Lichtenstein (1923-1997) in France. The show offers a new perspective on this iconic figure of American Pop Art, looking ‘beyond Pop’ to discover one of the first postmodern artists. From the early works based on comics and pop culture in the 1960s, to the dialogue with the great masters of modern or classical art, the exhibition covers the main phases of the career of an outstanding artist of the second half of the 20th century.
