In a significant week – with Interni Designer's Week and Milano Design City – for the restart of the ‘Milan of design’, FederlegnoArredo and Salone del Mobile.Milano signal the confidence on the part of the Government for the holding of the most important fair in the sector in September

Soon we will have important news on the restart of international fairs”, FederlegnoArredo e Salone del Mobile.Milano explain at the end of a dense series of meetings with Palazzo Chigi, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of the Interior, Ministry of Economic Development, Ministry of Health, Ministry of Regional Affairs, which recorded the will of the Government to concretely support the restart of the Salone del Mobile.Milano and of the entire wood-furniture supply chain already at the next Council of Ministers.

The Salone del Mobile in Milan is an invaluable asset for the entire country and the Government has confirmed that it is fully aware of it. We are therefore confident that the assurances received yesterday will soon be transformed into concrete acts. But above all, it must be a shared choice by companies that must confirm their participation in the event, giving the furniture sector, the national economy and society a fundamental impetus for recovery”, explain Claudio Luti, president of the Salone del Mobile.Milano.

“The words spoken last week by Prime Minister Mario Draghi on the need for a plan to reopen fairs and events were confirmed in the meetings held in Rome. A really important signal from the politic”, explain Claudio Feltrin, president of FederlegnoArredo “who fully grasped the urgency of having, in addition to a certain date, the necessary reassurance to organize such an important event as the Salone del Mobile in Milan in due time. Even after the government's okay in the presence of the public for the European football championships”, Feltrin concludes, “the conviction is growing that the restart is really close at hand and cutting the ribbon of the Salone in September would be the best way to tell the world that the 'Italy is back to the new normal”.
