At the Milan Triennale, a seminar hosted by the Municipal Government of Shenzhen, organized by the advertising division of Shenzhen City of Design
Shenzhen, a UNESCO creative city, for the design of its constantly evolving skyline, has chosen Milan as the setting for a seminar to present Shenzhen city of design. The invited participants included professionals and representatives of important associations, universities and industrial companies active in the design sector in Italy: Stefano Boeri (president of Fondazione La Triennale of Milan), Cristina Tajani (city councilor for Labor Policies, Productive Activities, Commerce and Human Resources of the City of Milan), Song Xuefeng (consul general of the People’s Republic of China in Milan), Wang Weizhong (mayor of Shenzhen), Han Wangxi (director of SDPA Shenzhen City of Design Promotion Office), Roberto Riccio (CEO of Istituto Marangoni in Milan), Gilda Bojardi (editor of Interni).

In Shenzhen the Design Society was opened in December 2017, the first Chinese design museum, a true “temple” where design becomes a social catalyst, thanks to collaboration between China Merchants Shekou (CMSK) and the Victoria and Albert Museum of London.
Starting in April 2017, Shenzhen also organizes an annual Design Week, a festival of design with international appeal, that enlivens the city for one week with an intense program of events and activities. The high point of the event is the Shenzhen Global Design Award (SDA), to honor designers for exceptional creativity and vision.
