Studio Driusso Associati Architects has designed the interiors and external façade of the new space for D’Introno bath furnishings and facings at Gioia del Colle (Apulia). The existing building, an anonymousindustrial shed, has been completely transformed to create a showroom. The outer façade has been clad with large sheets of Kerlite, with the addition of sunscreens made with teak on a white painted metal framework. Great care has gone into the outdoor and indoor lighting, where the technical fixtures are in tune with the more decorative lamps, creating the right atmosphere for the space. The square area of 550 m2 contains theme areas that can be explored in a clear display itinerary. The entire surface has been covered with gray resin, on which raised platforms stand out, lit around the edges by LED strips, and made by using boards of different kinds of wood. The suspended ceiling highlights the display areas, accentuating the design-oriented approach. A large partition with a cascade of water, covered in sunset slate, marks the entrance to the ‘creative workshop’ area, with a large wooden table displaying a selection of design materials. Fire and water meet on the large central platform for signature design, surrounded by illustrative settings.
