At 10 Corso Como, in Milan, the cosmopolitan creativity of Fidia Falaschetti will be on display until December 8th, reinterpreting international gaming icons by Mattel

Until 8 December 2024, in Milan at 10 Corso Como, the exhibition 'Playdult brings the game to the stage - the one we associate, in our mind, with iconic images such as Barie and Hot weels - reinterpreted in an adult key.

Evergreens of analogical play, with Playdult, are transformed into works of art to observe and reflect on: plastic sculptures of icons of the time reproduced on a human scale and in artistic declination. With a contemporary accent.

The project was conceived by Mattel Creations, Mattel's platform dedicated to limited editions and artistic collaborations, and Fidia Fiaschetti, an eclectic Italian artist also known for having collaborated, over the years, with the likes of Robert Downey Jr and Justin Bieber.

An innovative artistic project

Not just aesthetics, the Playdult exhibition provides a new perspective on play, which, with a specially designed installation, is also proposed for reflection.

A project that represents the culmination of Fidia's passion for toys, never interrupted since the very early years of childhood, when the artist enjoyed himself with the characters of Masters of the Universe and the toy cars of Hot Wheels, and re-proposed today with a mature vision.

"Playdult is the perfect place for an artist like me who believes that to revive this world" said Falaschetti.

Collaboration with Mattel Creations

To create works that combine her artistic vision with the strong identity of Mattel brands, including Barbie™, Hot Wheels™, Masters of the Universe™ and Rock’em Sock’em™, Fidia Falaschetti worked closely with the Mattel Creations team.

Thus, the project gave life to unique works that not only celebrate the heritage of each brand, but also offer new interpretations through a distinctive artistic language.

Mattel Creation’s first exhibition experience in EMEA

The event is an exceptional showcase for Mattel Creations’ ongoing commitment to innovation and artistic excellence. Andrea Ziella, Lead EMEA at Mattel Creations, highlighted that “collaborating with Fidia Falaschetti for our first artistic exhibition in EMEA is a testament to our commitment”. The exhibition represents a unique fusion of art and play, celebrating the enduring appeal of Mattel’s iconic IP.

Also not to be missed for... reconsidering play, as adults

Fidia has created four distinctive works inspired by some of Mattel's most iconic properties. Each work is a personal interpretation that reflects the artist's deep connection with these brands, with the aim of encouraging the public to reconsider the value of toys in adult life. These creations are not only pieces for display, but also objects of reflection that invite us to rediscover the joy and wonder of childhood.
