The advanced training course in Temporary Shop & Retail Design organized by POLI.design Consortium of the Milan Polytechnic investigates new dynamics of design, trends and communication in the world of temporary shops, pop-up stores and “shops-in-shops.”

The third edition is held from 2 to 27 May 2016, focusing on the development of a project for Asus.

Asus provides the brief that defines the project guidelines: a unique opportunity for the participants to apply knowledge and come to terms with a real client and a stimulating design challenge.

Asus can implement one of the concepts developed during the project work by one of the teams, evaluating the option of economic remuneration for the design.

The educational objectives are to help students understand and manage the issues of design of a “space in space,” examining equipment and furnishings in a context where clients are increasingly informed and demanding; to approach the entire design process, from the brief to the concept to the assessment of production costs; to identify the dynamics that regulate the relationship between client and designer, while finding the drivers to generate a “performing” structure.

The course features theoretical and practical modules, for a total of 160 hours of lectures and final group project work, in which the students can express their creative abilities and pitch their own projects.

The program also covers evening visits to the most innovative temporary venues in Milan, together with the teachers. Based on their schedules and professional interests, the students can attend only the theoretical lectures, or can also take part in the final project work.

The course is aimed at graduates, preferably in Design, Architecture or Engineering, and sector professionals who want to specialize in the design of innovative temporary retail facilities, as well as managers and entrepreneurs of companies in the temporary retail sector.

The registration fee is € 1000 +IVA (22%) for the entire course of € 700 +IVA (22%) for the lectures only. Discounts are available for all former participants in courses of POLI.design and Politecnico di Milano.
