Turin: the austere charm of a magical city

Austere and regal, Turin is a silent city, with soft lighting. Fascinating and mysterious, especially if you go through it at night, it is a 'magical' city, which reveals itself when the light falls, walking along its rigorous yet labyrinthine streets, between imperious squares and majestic palaces, stumbling upon castles and Baroque churches.

The neon and the bull

The project is enhanced right from the façade through three neon works by the artist Vittorio Corsini that belong to the Come on give me a smile. THO by Nicola Russo, a fiberglass sculpture that plays the bull, symbol of the city of Turin.

The dualism between rigor and instability

To welcome in the foyer of the theater a floor installation of 90 square meters created ad hoc by Vittorio Corsini . The lines on the ground create a sort of physical and mental path: the sensation is that of entering an unreal, unstable space. The dualism between dreamlike and geometric is amplified by two luminous sculptures colored by the artist Albert Hien placed next to the Margherita polycarbonate seats by Jacopo Foggini for Edra, which, with their smooth lines and iridescent, contrast with the essential and clear signs of the works and architecture. To increase the sense of unreality, three videos by Rino Stefano Tagliafierro entitled Stick your tongue out.

Monumental chairs and sinuous islands

Transformed into a lounge, the Piccolo Teatro is the most immersive environment. The large suspended sculpture Right of Return (By Themselves and of Themselves), created by Marc Andrè Robinson Right of Return assembles chairs of different origins and nature, transforming the provisional into a monumental and the irrelevant. The work stands out on the On the Rocks sofas by Francesco Binfaré for Edra, which, like welcoming and comfortable islands, invite you to relax.

Poetry, balls of yarn and purity

In the same room the visual poem by Robert Montgomery reads In the silence of your bones and eyes forgotten magic sits and waits for fire , next to Vermelha armchairs, designed by Fernando and Humberto Campana for Edra in woven rope to evoke balls of fairy tale memory, as well as chairs and bookcases with pure and sculptural volumes from the Primitive collection by Nucleo, a collective of Turin artist-designers led by Piergiorgio Robino.

On stage a cloud on a Fiat 500

On the stage of the Teatro Grande hall stands Nuvola, a large fiberglass sculpture by Gabriele Picco , placed on the luggage rack of a vintage Fiat 500.
