Serena Confalonieri's first solo show is a sensory journey – vibrant, psychedelic and kaleidoscopic – that winds through the Apartamento Contemporary Cluster in Rome

A path - physical and mental - between rooms steeped in history and functional objects with a high expressive and communicative rate that opens up to the variegated (and super colored) creative universes outlined by the creativity arising from the volcanic Serena Confalonieri.

Exposed until January 7, 2023 within the linked and painted environments that make up the the labyrinthine Apartamento of Contemporary Cluster, an interdisciplinary hub housed in the sumptuous and multifaceted Palazzo Brancaccio in Rome, Burning Bright is the first solo show of the Milanese designer.

William Blake and perceptual alterations

The title of the exhibition, Burning Bright, refers to the poem The Tyger by William Blake, the first author explored the concept of widening perception.

Serena Confalonieri has developed a path that tells her work on the basis of color perception , drawing on the research of Aldous Huxley, admirer of poetry of Blake to which he often refers, on the perceptual alterations consequent to the use of psychedelic drugs described in his essay The doors of perception.

A journey in which all the senses are overstimulated

Burning Bright takes the viewer through a vibrant and colorful journey, in which sight and all the other senses are overstimulated by bright colors and kaleidoscopic patterns.

The pieces on display

The exhibition consists of a selection of products designed by Serena Confalonieri for companies in the design sector such as Gebrüder Thonet Vienna, Illulian, Lanificio Leo, l'Opificio, Medulum, MM Lampadari, Sambonet, Valet stand, Wall&decò, created in customized variants ad hoc for Burning Bright , as well as new projects and a selection of pieces from self-productions.

A psychedelic journey through seven rooms

The psychedelic path, a visual and perceptive explosion, inside seven rooms creates an experience with a high level of sensoriality. A mental journey, but also a physical one, to exotic and mystical places.
