Over 100 participants, for a total of more than 140 events, at the first edition of Venice Glass Week,a true international festival on the art of glassmaking.

 

The initiative of the City of Venice, Fondazione Musei Civici di Venezia, Fondazione Cini/Le Stanze del Vetro, Istituto Veneto and Consorzio Promovetro Murano has the aim of supporting the most important artistic and productive activities of the territory.

 

The program of Venice Glass Week includes many events across the territory – most of them free of charge – on the theme of artistic glass: exhibitions, conferences, seminars, prizes, but also screenings, educational activities, parties, dinners and open visits to glassworks.

 

The week kicks off on 10 September with the opening of the exhibition Vittorio Zecchin: transparent glass for Cappellin and Venini. Details at the link https://www.internimagazine.it/?p=151905.

At the island of San Giorgio, visitors can admire the monumental glass sculpture by the American artist Pae White, completed in August: Qwalala. Details at the link https://www.internimagazine.it/news/agenda/qwalala/.

The various encounters include the presentation of the book by Livio Seguso, Una vita per l’arte.

Fondazione Musei Civici di Venezia will host works by international artists, including Federica Marangoni, at the Museo del Vetro.

 

From 30 August to 13 September, the Sale Apollinee present Gold, a precious installation in Murano glass made by the companies of the trademark Vetro Artistico® Murano.
