The AccadueRho cultural association and the City of Rho organize, on 2 June, for the Festa delle Repubblica, with the support of Expo Milano 2015, the event “Il mondo a tavola” on the themes of enhancement of the territory and multicultural life, with a particular accent on the question of “Feeding the Planet.”
An attempt will be made to set a new record: that of the world’s longest tablecloth.
A challenge faced by IED – Istituto Europeo di Design – Accademia di Belle Arti Aldo Galli, in partnership with For.tex Epson, which has taken part in the initiative, accepting the challenge and setting out to complete this ambitious project coordinated by Marina Nelli.
IED and For.tex Epson guide the pool of companies of Tessile Comasco in this project, with the technical contributions of Stamperia di Lipomo, Tessitura Marinoni, Tintoria Giovanni Clerici e Figli, and Gruppo Colombo.
To get into the Guinness record books, the project calls for the production of a single piece of cotton fabric with a length of over 2300 meters, spread out, with digital printing, for a weight of over 600 kg.
“The world at the table” is also a project of solidarity. Part of the cost of the tickets will go to charity, to buy meals for 500 children of the community of Croix-de-Bouquets, in Haiti, a zone where Terre des Hommes, which operates all over the world to protect the rights of children to education and health care, has already built two schools, organizing recreational activities and literacy programs.
