An evocative journey in the colors and atmospheres of Colombia, to discover crafts traditions to be preserved, thanks to Marni’s innovative approach

Las Veredas are very small settlements that develop around one or two streets or groups of dwellings, giving rise to small rural communities, inside which every person represents a reference point for all the others. Places where sharing and know-how become the protagonists of everyday life.

The FuoriSalone 2018 of Marni was a Vereda on a festive occasion.

Marni’s Vereda in the space at Viale Umbria 42 in Milan was a place where colors, flavors and folklore formed a backdrop for the new collection of furnishings and accessories of the brand, which this year diversifies into new types of workmanship and new materials.

Crafsmanship, always a distinctive feature in Marni’s projects for Design Week, was interpreted this year through multiple collaborations with communities from various zones of Colombia, bringing their traditions to Milan, which Marni reinterpreted with its playful experimental approach.

The result is a series of objects that join the range of furnishing complements.

Papier-maché hens made by hand by a community of women of Villanueva, in the Casanare district, one-of-a-kind creations, each of which takes four days to complete.

Part of the proceeds from sale of the products goes to finance the project La casa sull’albero, organized by Piccolo Principe S.C.S Onlus to support children and the families who chose the path of adoption and foster care in the province of Milan.
