The reinterpretation in stoneware of the beauty of hand-made majolica bricks, dense with enamel, very shiny and imperfect

The Crogiolo line by Marazzi reinterprets the authentic beauty of ceramics, characterised by colours and decorations in collections from hand-made flavour. A series that combines technological innovation with the care and attention typical of artisan work that gives a vibrant atmosphere to interiors.

The name Crogiolo is particularly significant for the history of Marazzi: it identifies the industrial building where Marazzi was founded in the 1930s and the place where, in the 1980s, the research and experimentation laboratory ‘Il Crogiolo’ was created, where architects, designers, artists and photographers were called upon to freely interpret the ceramic product.

The “melting pot” of experimentation

From these creative encounters were born the Marazzi “Experimentations”, designer tiles signed by great artists such as Roger Capron, Amleto dalla Costa or Robert Gilgorov and documented by the photographs of Luigi Ghirri, Cuchi White and Charles Traub.

Between handmade and innovation

And it is precisely from this spirit that the Crogiolo collections were born, a perfect combination of the love for “handmade” and the continuous research and innovation that have distinguished Marazzi for almost ninety years.

The Lume collection in a Parisian interior

The Lume collection belongs to Crogiolo and reinterprets in stoneware the beauty of hand-made majolica bricks, dense with enamel, very shiny and imperfect: halos, irregularities and dots make each piece and each composition unique. The chromatic variations of different intensity that outline the surface give the room a sophisticated atmosphere.

The vibrant atmosphere that the Lume line gives to the bathroom can be perceived inside an apartment located in the heart of Paris, designed by Studio 2a architecture: a restyling project that has transformed a residential bathroom into a modern, functional and stylish space.

A bathroom flooded with natural light

In this luxurious and bold creation, the emphasis is on comfort and aesthetics; a large bathroom space, flooded with natural light, where an elegant black sink meets a shower with enveloping lines.

The protagonists of the bathroom are the Lume Green tiles by Marazzi, which with their intense and bright green cover the walls, creating an extraordinary visual effect made of sinuous curves and welcoming spaces.

The magic of the vertical arrangement of tiles

The vertical arrangement of tiles accentuates the height of the room and gives a sense of depth and freshness, evoking a harmonious connection with nature.

The final result is a salle de bain that combines practicality and beauty, where every detail has been taken care of to unite the elegance of the Ville Lumière with the savoir-faire of Marazzi.

The new 6x24 cm format together with the very straight edges that allow for almost seamless installation, make the project decidedly contemporary. In the 6x24 cm format, it is offered in 12 colours (Off White, Turquoise, Forest, China, Beige, Pink, White, Green, Blue, Black, Musk and Greige) and is reinterpreted in hexagonal-shaped tiles in three colours (White, Green and Blue) in the 21x18.2 cm format.
