The brand celebrates its 90 years with a new Lissoni system, a reinterpretation of the iconic Xila and with the evolution of Zaha Hadid's Cove

The characteristic of Novanta is given by the recessed base which acts as a support for the containers with finished panels, capable of creating the illusion that the entire unit is floating above the floor.

Novanta, by Piero Lissoni: a floating kitchen

The tactile materials, from MDi to stainless steel, which cover the 300 mm plinth, the top and the sides, are the perfect example to show how Boffi has led to new typologies of architectural and material proposals.

As the designer, art director of the company, declares: “Novanta is a very architectural kitchen designed on a different scale, almost as if it were a suspended building. It is made up of horizontal elements - the islands on which we work - and perpendicular containing elements, just like a city that develops both horizontally and vertically. We have thus left the world of design products to enter that of architectural products."

Novanta is characterized by the use of sophisticated materials, available in a wide range of textures and finishes, thus offering a vast aesthetic and functional choice.

With XO, Elisa Ossino reinterprets the timeless Xila from 1972

A linear, balanced and never predictable design distinguishes the projects of Elisa Ossino who designed the XO kitchen for Boffi.

This model is inspired by the timeless Xila kitchen designed by Luigi Massoni in 1972, which featured a door with a groove and no handles. The designer, drawing on her own creative leitmotif, worked on the contrast of strong volumes and thin thicknesses, with geometries that combine with strong lines and delicate edges.

For the top, Breccia Imperiale stone was used, material and with warm shades. The tops and side panels function as a refined tactile portal that projects three centimetres, framing the handle-free doors, which touch the floor for the first time.

The conviviality function is guaranteed by a peninsula in solid American Elm or oil-treated Ash wood, characterized by a circular shape with a bevelled edge and a sculptural curve of the foot.

The same collection includes columns, sideboards with shoulders and tops defined by the same overhang as the kitchen.

The evolution of Cove Kitchen by Zaha Hadid

Among the new features, also the evolution of Cove Kitchen by Zaha Hadid, which is transformed on the occasion of Boffi's 90th anniversary.

Consisting of a monobloc characterized by sinuous and simple shapes that use mouldable materials such as Corian®, Cove Kitchen was born from the pioneering mind of Zaha Hadid, according to whom the work island also became a place of conviviality. The shape evolves by providing coverage of the entire side of the island through two lateral sides with rounded corners and specific tops, with perimeter edges gently curved downwards.

The implementation of new materials such as Clay, matt lacquer and marble for the tops then gives new life to this iconic project.
