The Biennale Arte 2024 of Venice, with a decision deliberated by the Board of Directors on the proposal of the President Roberto Cicutto, is officially provided with a creative director.
It is Adriano Pedrosa, current Director of the Visual Arts Sector, who takes on the prestigious task of curating the 60. International Art Exhibition which will take place next year.

In addition to being Artistic Director of the Museu de Arte de São Paulo Assis Chateaubriand - MASP, in Brazil, his home country, since 2014, Adriano Pedrosa was assistant curator of the 24th Bienal de São Paulo (1998 ), curator in charge of the exhibitions and collections at the Museu de Arte da Pampulha, Belo Horizonte (2000-2003), co-curator of the 27. Bienal de São Paulo (2006), curator of InSite_05 (San Diego Museum of Art, Centro Cultural Tijuana, 2005), artistic director of the 2. Trienal de San Juan (2009), curator of the 31. Panorama da Arte Brasileira-Mamõyaguara opá mamõ pupé (Museu de Arte Moderna, San Paulo, 2009), co-curator of the 12. Biennale of Istanbul, curator of the São Paulo Pavilion at the 9th Shanghai Biennale (2012).
At MASP Pedrosa has curated numerous exhibitions, including personal exhibitions dedicated to the works of Tarsila do Amaral, Anna Bella Geiger, Ione Saldanha, Maria Auxiliadora, Gertrudes Altschul, Beatriz Milhazes, Wanda Pimentel and Hélio Oiticia, as well such as the cycle of exhibitions dedicated to different stories: Histories of Childhood (2016), Histories of Sexuality (2017), Afro Atlantic Histories (2018), Women's Histories, Feminist Histories (2019), Histories of Dance (2020), Brazilian Histories ( 2022).
He was also awarded the 2023 Audrey Irmas Award for Curatorial Excellence, bestowed upon him by the Central for Curatorial Studies at Bard College in New York.
Pedrosa holds a law degree from Universidade Estadual in Rio de Janeiro and a master's degree in art and critical writing from the California Institute of the Arts.
