The façade lighting project by Eleftheria Deko and Associates for the Athens International Airport

An ambitious and creative lighting project signed by the Linea Light Group design team and Eleftheria Deko and Associates, a Greek lighting design studio. The visionary light cladding aims to give a new face to the structure on the occasion of the redevelopment of the airport defined by the Alexandros N. Tombazis and Associates and AVW Architecture studios.

The aim of the outdoor lighting project was to emphasize the main facade of the new building which represents the most visible part for those reaching the airport oriented towards the major road directives: the fulcrum was primarily the external front facade of the new wing, immediately visible upon arrival at the airport, illuminated thanks to the solutions made available by the Treviso company.

For this reason, a custom version of the Paseo linear profile (whose modules are RGBW and individually managed by a DMX control unit) has been redesigned: the extreme versatility has made it possible to create an "extra-large" model, which can be built in directly. on the sunshades of the structure, to give life to suggestive scenographic effects.

By combining 253 modules, Paseo Giga was conceived, starting with the creation of an aluminum outer casing to be installed inside the sunshades with the dual task of guarding the electrical wiring and allowing it to be built in. Made of polycarbonate and with an IP67 to withstand atmospheric agents, the modules create a unique show by interspersing elegant white lines with colored scenes, including static or dynamic effects capable of fading, turning on and off.

The Linea Light Group's signature is also visible indoors, in the wing dedicated to low cost flights, where Rada downlights have been installed, capable of ensuring the total absence of direct glare, guaranteeing uniform and homogeneous light.

Finally, the less visible sides of the building were enhanced with the use of Archiline PRO profiles in the 4000K monochromatic version, managed with the DALI protocol, alongside a custom version of Thin66: the linear profile, with diffused light emission, accentuates the architectural details highlighting the details and emphasizing the facades with great elegance.
