The different aesthetics of two designers converge in a project that blends color and material, representing the powerful inclusiveness of beauty

COURTYARD OF HONOUR, UNIVERSITY OF MILAN - The different aesthetics of two designers converge in a harmonious project representing the powerful inclusivity of beauty and its sensuous fusion of color and matter.

Inspired by Kiko Milano ’s iconic 3D Hydra Lipgloss makeup product that blends gloss transparencies with sensuous colors and volumes, the installation entwines the two different design approaches of Jacopo Foggini and Massimo Iosa Ghini, with the aim of expressing how diversity can be transformed into harmony.

Anchored to two geometric elements with rounded corners designed by Massimo Iosa Ghini, the large chandelier by Jacopo Foggini is a cascade of transparent rods that plunge into the ‘labial’ forms of the sofa designed by Massimo Iosa Ghini, glossy and sculptural, arranged on a square dais.

In an abstract way, the composition evokes the ability of each to reflect and shine, recounting the well-being of beauty gestures and the power of attraction and sharing of makeup to the visitors, who can explore the way the installation interacts with light.

Jacopo Foggini’s great chandelier (diameter 2 x h. 4 m), suspended at a height of 8 meters, consists of a cascade of transparent methacrylate rods, painted in the colors present in the bright and multidimensional material of the lip makeup product by Kiko Milano, a global beauty brand founded in 1997 by Stefano Percassi.

Placed on a square dais (measuring 6 meters per side), the circular sofa (diameter 3.20 m), designed by Massimo Iosa Ghini for Dameda, recalls the physiognomy of the lips and celebrates the qualities of the cosmetics brand’s product. The installation was produced with the support of Contract and iGuzzini illuminazione.
