The competition 'Il Design. Un viaggio tra Italia e Spagna' (Design. A journey between Italy and Spain), organized by the Italian Embassy in Madrid, is now held for the third time.

"Share, reuse, restart" were the three ideas that students from Spanish design schools were asked to develop, in a key of sustainability and circular economy, through projects related to the home, outdoors, shared spaces, to be implemented using sustainable or waste materials.
In cooperation with Interni, in March 2022, COAM (the Chamber of Architects of Madrid), di_mad (the Association of Designers of Madrid), ADI-FAD (the Association for Industrial Design of Barcelona), ADCV (the Association of Designers of the Valencian Community) and the Italian Embassy in Madrid chose the three winning projects plus two special mentions.
In line with the spirit and ultimate aims of the competition - which are to create a link between Spanish projects and Italian know-how - the proposals, selected by an Italian-Spanish jury chaired by Ambassador Riccardo Guariglia, will soon be prototyped by five Italian companies.
In the meantime, the same projects will be highlighted at the FuoriSalone in the exhibition Design Re-Generation, with an installation by Gianluca Pugliese, CEO of Lowpoly, in cooperation with Arturo Tedeschi, made with eco-sustainable materials using 3D printing technology, whose huge potential was at the heart of the last Italian Design Day held in Spain on 23rd March.
