A tower, like a metaphorical telescope looking to the future. Inside, an audiovisual experience of the beauty of our planet, stimulating us to imagine a tomorrow of well-being and harmony.

Sidereal Station is a tall, reflective tower with a metallic light that seems to come from the stars. “It is a metaphorical telescope pointing at the sky and, at the same time, inviting us to reflect. Our dream is to find harmony in order to be at peace with ourselves and others, while preserving the physical environment in which we live”, explains Michele De Lucchi, interpreting Whirlpool's work as the search for a key to understanding a future in which domestic activities will be simplified by evolving technologies and our homes will become ‘intelligent’ places, inhabited by interconnected appliances.

The micro-structure has a truncated conical form, rising from a construction module. Its metal skeleton is covered with five levels of triangles of decreasing size, with a skin of Pure white Alucobond. The tower contains a small cylindrical body: a multimedia room, obscured by a sound-absorbing curtain around it. An animated video is projected on the ceiling, and the gaze is instinctively drawn upwards to contemplate the images which pay tribute to the beauty of our planet, calling for a future of well-being.
