Designed by Massimiliano Braconi, the new collection of washbasins with a conical profile and 10 cm base available in three different heights

"True art is subtracting from things, not adding to them. I thought of tightening up the base from which to generate and give birth to this form. Imagine a person who, as in the past, could approach the potter's wheel to create very light vases from matter. This is the context in which the Equilibrium collection was born and the suggestion it should convey," says Massimiliano Braconi, who designed the collection for Alice Ceramica.

A technical challenge met

Equilibrium was born from the encounter between the designer's personal experience in artistic ceramics, the artistic tradition of the area and Alice Ceramica's ability to face and solve a technical challenge: the study and development of the conical shape and its functionality in space. Three washbasins with three different heights (20 cm, 17.5 cm and 15 cm) for aesthetic solutions in line with the company's philosophy: to produce artefacts with character, practical and rational with great attention to research. The washbasins are developed on a base of only 10 cm and prove to be true technological objects, defying the laws of stability.

Balance as a form of stability

"Enveloping and sensual figures, not breaking, not tearing shapes. Equilibrium does not propose large cubes or marble figures, but lightness. Originally the name of Alice Ceramica's collection was to be Vasai, but the name Equilibrium is certainly more evocative because it recalls the balance between two people, between man and woman, between work and what you defend... It is the emblem of the stability of the human being,' Braconi continues. Harmonious curves and essential volumes: the basin of the washbasin is circular but has a conical profile and an original design to become the protagonist of the bathroom environment.

Three heights for a double solution

All three washbasins in the Alice Ceramica collection feature an internal basin with an excellent capacity with a minimal 5 mm rim and ceramic drain in a matching finish. They are available both in the suspended countertop solution, with an exposed siphon (chrome or matt black), and in two modular solutions. The first is a freestanding solution with a 72.5 cm high ceramic column, available in both the floor and wall drainage versions. The second is a free-standing solution combined with UNI frames in three different widths 50, 75 or 100 cm.

Always original mixes

The frames are made of powder-coated stainless steel and come with an integrated ceramic top, both available in all Alice Ceramica colours and finishes. Practical and functional, they are equipped with a wooden drawer with a 45-degree cut-out and slow-closing mechanism, available in oak, white or black finish. No limits to imagination and room for creativity with all the available finishes for an always original mix.

Colours and finishes: wide range of choice

Alice Ceramica offers a wide range of colours: nine solutions in Matt finish: White, Black, Coffee, Anthracite, Grey, Sand, Ash, Alpine Green, Pink and four in Gloss finish: Tabasco, Myrtle, Pine, Honey. Four are also the solutions in Materia finish obtained by a production treatment called decalcomania, a special film applied to the pieces before the last baking step in a 900° oven to make the Carrara, Marquinia, Bronze and Amazon versions.
