Milan, the capital of design, and the most eagerly awaited event of the year, the FuoriSalone, was chosen for the inauguration of the first flagship store in Europe of the Ornare haute cabinet-making brand

The eighteenth-century Palazzo Gallarati Scotti in Via Manzoni, Milan, is home to the first European flagship store of Ornare, the company specialising in the production of high-end custom-made furniture that was founded in São Paulo in 1986 and quickly expanded to several Brazilian cities as well as the United States.

A historic palace for timeless furnishings

Located in the Quadrilatero della Moda, due to the significant presence of luxury fashion shops, Palazzo Gallarati Scotti is distinguished by its sober architecture, typical of Milanese Baroque, which reserves its whimsy for the interior rooms. Here, in fact, frescoes, decorations of putti, medallions and elegant trompe l'oeil follow one another. Ornare's showroom, which occupies an area of 450 square metres, presents itself to the public with two collections: Timeless, developed by Studio Ornare under the direction of Murillo Schattan, and Colette, the 2024 novelty.

Furniture conceived, designed and produced to last

The Timeless Collection, the star of the new flagship store, is Ornare's answer to today's needs for less consumption and more sustainable products: all the pieces in the collection are built to last for generations, both in terms of the quality of the materials used and the timeless design, free from the suggestions of passing trends. "Ornare is ready to inspire, taking the experience of high-end furniture to new levels of sophistication and innovation," says Esther Schattan, founding partner of the brand.

Maximum customisation

The Timeless collection clearly states the aim of furnishing sophisticated dwellings. The structure of the individual pieces, which can be fully customised in terms of colours, finishes and sizes, is made of solid wood (internationally certified FSC - Forest Stewardship Council). Wood, the material par excellence of Ornare production, is complemented by glass, leather, which plays an important role, ennobling lines and volumes, steel and carbon, for a combination of technology and high craftsmanship.

Discovering the world of Ornare... and beyond

Visitors to the Milan flagship can therefore admire the collection's lines live: Timeless Bookshelf, Timeless Closet, Timeless Beauty, Edge Desk and Timeless Bar, as well as the new Colette line, just waiting to be discovered. Conceived to embellish rooms with ad hoc decorative elements, Colette stands out for its elegant design and offers various accessories, such as shelves, plinths, plaster mouldings for ceilings, shelves, table legs, table tops, cupboards and doors with carved frames, inspired by the Boiardo. The store layout, however, does not end there, but also includes kitchens from the Minimal, Round, Linear, Shaker and Colette lines; walk-in wardrobes from the Stripe, 270º, Ikigai, Wall System, Crystal Case lines and a Move panel; the Little Luxury Beauty cabinet set; and accessories such as chairs, ottomans and hangers.
