Atlas Concorde dresses the exclusive Hôtel des Horlogers

Danish architecture firm Bjarke Ingels Group (BIG) signs the restyling of the historic Hôtel des Horlogers in the Vallée de Joux in Switzerland and chooses the Italian brand's wall coverings
Combining the language of Swiss tradition with the language of contemporary architecture: in the renovated Hôtel des Horlogers, the purity of lines and surfaces meets the materiality of wood and stone, crossed by a harmony that mixes past and future, aesthetics and thought. Atlas Concorde contributed to this new aesthetic research with its porcelain stoneware collections.
For common areas, spa and restaurant, studio BIG chose Atlas Concorde's Brave stone effect collection, applied on the floor.
A long history
The Hôtel des Horlogers was rebuilt in 1984 on the same site as the Hôtel de France, founded in 1857. The building was an important stop along the Chemin des Horlogers, a watchmaking route linking the workshops in the Vallée de Joux with Geneva. After its closure in 2000, Audemars Piguet (Swiss luxury watch brand) bought it and renovated it in 2003. Today, restyling by the Bjarke Ingels Group (BIG) studio brings it back to life, thanks to Atlas Concorde cladding.
At the service of designers and architects, Atlas Concorde ceramic surfaces offer multiple solutions.
Comfort and hospitality
For common spaces, spa and restaurant, studio BIG has chosen the Brave stone effect collection by Atlas Concorde, applied on the floor with dark and warm shades and textures that evoke feelings of comfort and hospitality. Brave recalls the expressiveness of stone and, with its evocative power, introduces it into the heart of contemporary design.

A new materiality
For bedroom bathroom surfaces, the choice has shifted towards a new materiality, more algid and essential, with the Blaze metal effect collection by Atlas Concorde. The Aluminium shade recaptures the light and visual appeal of the oxidised metal effect.
The large slabs provided aesthetic continuity to the rooms.
Large slabs for large spaces
The large spaces of the spa welcome and reflect light thanks to Atlas Plan large format surfaces, a brand of the Atlas Concorde product ecosystem with its large porcelain stoneware slabs for kitchen tops, tables and furniture.
