Mercoledì 26 febbraio 2020, alle ore 19.00, all'Ambasciata d'Italia a Madrid, la premiazione del concorso “Il Design. Un viaggio tra Italia e Spagna”

For the fourth Italian Design Day (with the ambassadors Gilda Bojardi and Francesco Zurlo) held in Madrid on 26 February 2020 at the Italian Embassy, Calle Lagasca 98, ex-aequo prizes will be assigned in the context of the competition Design: A Voyage in Italy and Spain.

The jury, organized by the Italian Embassy in Madrid as part of the initiative ITmakES, in collaboration with the Consulate General of Italy in Barcelona, Interni Magazine, Colegio Oficial de Arquitectos de Madrid (COAM), with the Designers’ Association of Madrid (DIMAD) and the Association for Industrial Design and Promotion of the Arts of Barcelona (ADI-FAD), has selected seven winning projects and three honorable mentions.

The competition supports the value of Italian design in Spain and its spread in academies, universities, design schools, and among young professionals, encouraging connection between the creative world of Spain and Italian companies in the design sector.

An international jury chaired by the Italian Ambassador in Madrid Stefano Sannino and composed of the Editor of Interni Magazine Gilda Bojardi, the President of ADI - Associazione per il Disegno Industriale Luciano Galimberti, the President of COAM - Colegio Oficial de Arquitectos de Madrid Belén Hermida, the Secretary of DIMAD in Madrid Mariano Martín, the President of ADI-FAD in Barcelona Salvi Plaja and the director of the program in Product Design of Politecnico di Milano Francesco Zurlo, chose the best projects developed by students at design schools in Spain and young Italian or Spanish professionals working in Spain, on the theme “The object of identity. Towards the construction of a contemporary archetype.”

The finalists are the projects by Amalia Puga Cividanes with Entre Redes (prototyped by Emu Group), Blanca Galán Merino with Anyway (prototyped by True Design), Carla Jorgens Vidal with Nahe (prototyped by Martinelli Luce), Daniela Grisel Beizaga Laura with Marana Wooden Knife (prototyped by Disegno Mobile), Diego Finger with Gya (prototipato da Baleri Italia), Irene Infantes with Transhumacia (prototyped by cc-tapis) and Paula Chacartegui with Kama (prototyped by Alessi).

The three honorable mentions: Sergio Martinez del Barrio with Sedimentation, Julia Claveria Baro and Daria de Seta with Diaspora, Matteo Guarnaccia with Cross Cultural Chairs.

The selected projects will be on view at the Università degli Studi of Milan in the exhibition Interni Creative Connections from 20 to 30 April 2020, during the week of the Salone del Mobile in Milan.
