The Fabbrica Italiana di Lucidi e Affini, founded in 1943 by the brothers Guido and Pietro Pettenon to produce and market shoe polish, in the 70s, thanks to Beniamino Pettenon, current president, who created an innovative research center, specialized in the formulation of professional surface care products. Today Beniamino's children, Francesco and Alessandra Pettenon, hold the position of managing directors of Fila Solutions whose mission is to satisfy the customer through a path of innovation and research that focuses on the life cycle of surfaces, from their creation to behavior in terms of maintenance, cleaning and protection.

"The success of the company", explains Francesco Pettenon, "is testified not only by a daily presence on site, but also by prestigious interventions performed with our treatment systems, ideal both in historic-artistic residences (such as Palazzo Tornabuoni in Florence or Palazzo della Ragione in Padua) and in contemporary buildings (such as the Armani Hotel in Dubai, Doha Airport, the new Presidential Palace in Abu Dhabi and many other references) ".

Innovation and research have always been the basis and lifeblood of Fila's success, which offers increasingly high-performance treatment solutions capable of responding to the needs of consumers. A careful balance between the traditional values of the family and an advanced and managerial organization have made it a modern and global company, present in all the rings of the ceramic and stone supply chain, through six foreign commercial offices (France, Spain, Germany, United States, United States and United Arab Emirates) and a commercial network that oversees the supply of products and services in almost 90 countries around the world.

Respect for the environment has always been one of the company's priorities and the commitment on the green front is constant: a philosophy that is embodied in a wide range of products and solutions for cleaning and protecting surfaces. To confirm this, the company has been included in the ranking, drawn up by Credit Suisse and Kon Group, Media Partner Forbes, of the 100 most sustainable Italian companies, with an ESG rating issued by Altis Università Cattolica and Reprisk, and awarded at the Sustainability Award 2021. .

Professional solutions and respect for the environment

Member of the Green Building Council Italy, Fila obtained the ISO 14001 environmental certification in 2014 and today it is the only large Italian company, together with Atlantia, which adheres to Climate Pledge, an initiative promoted by Amazon and Global Optimism, which includes over 100 leading companies in their respective sectors that commit signatories to achieve zero CO2 emissions by 2040, 10 years earlier than the Paris Agreement. Thanks to the professional solutions with low environmental impact, the company is the protagonist within Green Pea, the first Green Retail Park in the world dedicated to the theme of respect for the environment. In the Padua plant, 100% of the electricity comes from renewable sources, of which almost 30% is produced with photovoltaics, with the aim of reaching 50% with the expansion of the plant at the end of 2022.

Between green projects and social commitment

"We are carrying out our green project", continues Alessandra Pettenon, CEO and Healthy & Safety Manager, "by presenting new product solutions and creating business processes aimed at reducing environmental impact. With this in mind, we brought forward by two years the law, already in force in Northern Europe and Canada, which provides for the removal of phosphates, the cause of water eutrophication, from our formulations. " Fila is also committed every day on the social side, promoting and paying attention to diversity of sex, skills and age, working standards, safety conditions in the workplace and respect for human rights. Among the various company initiatives, the dedicated “pink” Welfare Care, with breast cancer screening activities: today women make up almost 50% of the company population.

Turnover in continuous growth

2021 was, for Fila Solutions, full of satisfaction and recognition. The company confirms itself as an international reference point in the building and construction sector (which respects high quality standards and environmental sustainability), closing the year just past with a turnover of around 22 million euros (+ 5% compared to 2020). In continuous and constant expansion, today it has 104 employees (between the headquarters and the Innovation Center in San Martino di Lupari (Pd), the Experimentation Center in Fiorano Modenese in the heart of the Sassuolo ceramic district and the six foreign commercial offices.
