Ego, by Alberto Torsello for Abimis, is a kitchen for those who want to enjoy a professional product in a domestic setting

Tailor-made. Produced to a design as a customized monobloc without joints. Made to measure entirely by hand with craft skills lavished on the smallest details. This is Ego, the Abimis kitchen which, like all the company’s models, is aimed at those who want to enjoy a professional product in the home. Ego is built completely of AISI 304 steel: a biologically neutral material, which does not release substances to food, resists corrosion, high temperatures (up to 500°C) and, last but not least, is 100% recyclable. This is how its designer, Alberto Torsello describes it: “With Abimis we wanted to define a new conception of the ‘designer kitchen’ that would enable us to redesign the cooking spaces, interpreting them in a contemporary vision. Ego represents an idea of aesthetic purity: its rounded and essential lines endow the whole structure with uniqueness and elegance. The model can be produced in ‘orbitata’, mirrored or painted finish in any color, without limits to the chromatic fantasy.” Developed to better articulate spaces of movement for the user, studied so that each component is immediately usable, Ego is an emotional element and together a functional tool, a synthesis of formal essence and productional skill. A “tailor-made” project based on the needs of each, which finally places the figure of the cook at the center of the act of cooking.
