Discovering the material texture Cementoresina, with its taste for the handmade

Craftsmanship, that special patina that only manual techniques know how to give to a design product, is among the main ingredients of the made good that has always decreed the success of Made in Italy in the world. It also applies to paints: spatulature, ripples, and chromatic marbling are the accents and variables that can give an interior that lived-in feeling that makes it unique.

Cementoresina for personalizing

Among the fifteen material textures of Color Collection, Kerakoll's collection of colors and surfaces for interior decoration, is a resin floor with high aesthetic quality: Cementoresina. The uniqueness of this surface lies in the creation of a homogeneous finish with spatulas and ripples, color tides and material vibrations brought back by handcrafted application. Cementoresina has a high content of natural pigments that, thanks to the possibility of choosing from one hundred and fifty sophisticated shades, allow for the personalization of the living space. "Following design requirements, each Kerakoll surface has its own recommended use. In this case, Cementoresin is suitable for floors as well as stairs. Due to its waterproof characteristic, it is also suitable for covering shower trays, bathtubs and environments with a high presence of water, such as Turkish baths," explains Alessandro Dondi, Kerakoll Group marketing and communications director.

Cementoresina Wall for walls

To give perfect continuity to rooms with Cementoresina floors, Color Collection offers Cementoresina Wall, designed for so-called "technical" walls, such as bathrooms and kitchens. Both do not release odors and substances harmful to the environment and people's health.

High performance

A resin floor with a paste-colored trowel texture and natural high-performance finish, Cementoresina creates a striking and elegant atmosphere in just three millimeters of thickness. It is an easy-to-clean surface that is resistant to bacteria and common detergents. The system is also perfectly suitable in the presence of radiant systems, thanks especially to the first of the five layers that, in addition to ensuring perfect flatness, manages to follow the movements of the substrate while transmitting, without absorbing, the heat of the system. In addition, it meets the HACCP protocol for the decoration of rooms for food use, including commercial use, and is also suitable for children's rooms.

Application steps

Cementoresina is a multilayer, continuous, waterproof resin system that can be applied to either a new or an existing floor, whether ceramic, marble, stoneware or mosaic. In the former case, a consolidating primer will be used; in the latter, however, it will be necessary to provide a light sanding and wipe with a dampened cloth an adhesion promoter. The first layer that is applied, Floorzero, thanks to an innovative technology developed by Kerakoll, is able to ensure perfect adhesion on any substrate by creating an elastic and tenacious 1.5-millimeter layer capable of following the movements of the substrate and cushioning shocks. Next, we proceed with a double smoothing layer that forms the colored "core" of the floor, defining its texture. The last two transparent layers, in the form of gel and water-based protective film, ensure total cleanability of the surface and protection from scratches and the wear and tear of time. In addition, the extra matte final finish contributes to a striking, natural and elegant atmosphere.

Unique processes and manual workmanship

Kerakoll surfaces are born from unique processes and handwork by skilled craftsmen that make each surface inimitable and not industrially reproducible. Kerakoll's unique finishes bring a whole new dimension to the interior of a space. Natural textures reminiscent of organic surfaces such as stone or wood contribute to a warm atmosphere, while different finishes - such as a smooth surface combined with a trowel effect - add depth and create contrast.
