The Italian company specialized in the energy and aluminum sector has created a new alloy called Hydro Circal, which preserves the future from the abuse of natural resources

Hydro, a company specialized in thetransformation of natural resources into sustainable solutions , works daily to direct the decarbonisation process towards a certified circular economy, to guarantee increasingly respectful future construction.

Among the various innovative approaches that Hydro is pursuing, there is the study of new materials born - mostly - from the reuse of something already existing. Exemplary in this sense is the new Hydro Circal aluminum alloy, born from the conception of this material as infinite.

Aluminum, in fact, unlike other materials, lends itself to being completely recycled.

A rosy horizon, considering that there are approximately 200 million tons of aluminum in the world, ready to be reused at the end of their life cycle. And, moreover, an alternative solution that would help reduce the exploitation of natural resources.

To do this, Hydro, the company that owns the Domal brand, replaces the extraction of bauxite with reuse at the end of the cycle of lifeof aluminum objects.

The responsible use of resources, the use of renewable energy and the recycling of raw materials are just some of the pillars that support Hydro's constant commitment to a sustainable future.

All the latest Domal products are therefore made of Hydro Circal: post-consumer recycled aluminium with an exceptionally low carbon footprint in the world (from a minimum of 0.5 to a maximum of 1.9 kg CO2 per kg of aluminum produced).

Hydro Circal 75R is an alloy composed of a minimum of 75% post-consumer recycled content which boasts one of the lowest C02 footprint values in the world: 1.9 kg CO2e/kg Al, compared to the European average of 8.6 kg.

In addition to Hydro Circal 75R, on specific projects, Hydro Circal 100R is also available, an aluminum composed of 100% post-consumer waste, with a further reduction in the environmental footprint: 0.5 kg of CO2e/kg Al. This allows the creation of aluminum profiles for doors, windows and facades with a practically zero carbon footprint.
