The new headquarters of MC A - Mario Cucinella Architects opened in Milan on the 22nd of September. A former 1930s factory will host a space dedicated to design, research and training, to witness and support ever-increasing growth in national and international projects.

MC A - Mario Cucinella Architects - one of the main Italian architectural firms active at national and international level - inaugurated, in the presence of the Mayor of Milan Giuseppe Sala, the new Milan office in via Poma.

800 square meters spread over 3 levels, inside a 1930s building whose façade has been maintained and the interior spaces have been completely redeveloped, will also host the SOS - School of Sustainability headquarters, post-graduate training founded by Mario Cucinella, open to young creatives and researchers, professionals and companies in the sector.

The projects nearing completion were presented on the occasion, including the New Surgical and Emergency Center for the San Raffaele Hospital; The Etruscan Museum Luigi Rovati Foundation in Corso Venezia, the Unipol Tower under construction in the Porta Nuova area, SeiMilano, an urban regeneration project in Bisceglie and the City of Health and Research in Sesto San Giovanni, winner of the project finance tender; the residential project Garofalo Paisiello.

«With the new offices we have created a place capable of representing the multiplicity of MC A, inaugurating a space that wants to be the heart of an ecosystem made up of colleagues, partners, customers, suppliers and friends. It is a place that speaks of sharing, research, care for the environment and creativity " Mario Cucinella, founder of Mario Cucinella Architects, thus began the work of the new studio.

All projects are a synthesis of the attention to integration between technology and environmental strategies and are designed to reduce their environmental impact in view of the European 2030-2050 objectives, contributing to mitigation and adaptation actions to the effects of climate change.

"The Milanese and Lombard ecosystem, with its companies and universities, already our partners in important projects, is the engine of innovation and development of the country. We are and will be engaged in the next few years in many interventions that make us experience Milan a bit like a second home " Enrico Iascone, sole director of Mario Cucinella Architects.

The internal space is characterized by a series of balconies that overlook a central empty sky-earth that reaches from level -1, thanks to the large skylight on the garden terrace. On the ground floor, a long table of about 20 meters designed by Mario Cucinella and created by Officine Tamborrino, will host temporary exhibitions and study models. The lights are designed by Artemide, a historic Milanese company leader in the lighting sector, and the green setting project was curated by Marilena Baggio, architect and landscape architect, owner of Greencure.

The new offices will also be a place dedicated to the training of young talents and professionals in the sector. The SOS Foundation - School of Sustainability will be located inside the new office of the Firm, also thanks to the collaboration with Professor Mario Abis, created by the collaboration of the three founding partners, Mario Cucinella Architects, Fondazione Iris Ceramica Group and SAIB Spa, based on of shared values and with the aim of training the next generations of sustainable design professionals. The Foundation's initiatives are also possible thanks to the support of BPER Banca as a Participating Member.

A further example of the consolidation of the role of Milan as the creative capital of the country (and of creativity as a synonym for growth).
