An artistic installation of light design by Ludovica + Roberto Palomba emphasizes the identity of EV6, Kia's brand new 100% electric crossover

Great autonomy, ultra-fast 800 V charging system and crossover style: the Kia - EV6 , a reference for 100% electric zero emission vehicles.

On the occasion of the Italian premiere, the Korean brand asked Ludovica + Roberto Palomba to imagine an installation that would highlight the aesthetics of the car and its not only technological and performance characteristics.

The architects' answer is Moving Inspiration , a work of pulsating light, analogue and digital in execution : highly evocative, enhances the forms of a car projected into the future.

The inspiration

For the creative duo Moving Inspiration this is the answer to the question: “What is the element that connects the machine object with the space that hosts the installation?”

“We decided to work with the only element capable of enhancing the idea of movement: air, which is intangible and immaterial”, explains Roberto Palomba. “It was also nice to remember the 1968 novel by Philip K. Dick (But do androids dream of electric sheep?) from which Blade Runner by Ridley Scott”.

The creative process

In designing the installation, the two architects, founders of the ps+a Palomba Serafini Associati studio, worked as for a building. “As with architecture, everything must be put into dialogue”, said Ludovica Serafini. “When you experience a building, you enter it, its space envelops you, inside there are objects, lamps, sofas, every detail is part of a more complex system that only light can tell”.

Invisible energy

Following this thought, the harmonic lines of the car have been transformed into a luminous flux of led that recalls the trails generated by the moving car and the installation displays the optical effect of the energy that would envelop the sculptural form of the EV6 if it were in motion.
