Lots of events were organized in Zona Tortona, always a reference point during the week of the FuoriSalone. We should mention that for a few years now there has been some criticism, since this area of the city has seemed to shift towards more commercial events, abandoning the experimental spirit of its early days.
In the flood of happenings and names that in any case continue to enliven the area during Design Week, we can find some outstanding elements, with important design brands and famous talents operating in former industrial spaces.
Great charm was seen in the exhibition of new developments from Moooi set up by Marcel Wanders in the spaces of Area 56 on Via Savona. An enormous space made magical by the beautiful images of the photographer Rahi Rezvani.
The Dutch brand NLXL presented, in some domestic settings created in the spaces of Opificio 31, its two new collections of wallpapers: Addiction designed by Paola Navone and Obsession by Daniel Rozensztroch, artistic director of Merci.
Speaking of famous architects, Piero Lissoni showed an essential, minimalist installation of his new bath collection designed for Cotto, a brand of SCG, the Asian manufacturer of ceramics and bath fixtures.
In the field of ceramic facings, Emilceramica also unveiled important news, in collaboration with the studio King & Miranda: an original patented system, with an artisanal approach, that makes it possible to create transparent zones in dividers, thanks to cuts of light made with a new technology on the tiles.
