Recently a tour operator based in Milan, Il Viaggio – Journeys & Voyages , had the idea of launching a new professional figure, the travel designer.
An expert traveler who offers experience and knowledge with the aim of helping people to ‘design’ their trips. But travel designers are also designers who focus on travel accessories, from bags to suitcases to cameras.
With the holidays right around the corner, the market is flooded with ‘traveling’ objects, some with important signatures. We have made a mini-selection of chic and costly but also ethical things, like the bags Made in Prison – Socially Made in Italy that Ilaria Venturuni Fendi with Carmina Campus has managed to get produced in various Italian women’s penitentiaries, providing some vocational training for the inmates.
