Public fountains in the past played a fundamental role in villages, hamlets and towns: sources of water supply, but also places to meet and socialise. They guaranteed access todrinking water, essential for people's health, and were often located in central squares or along main roads. They were symbols of progress and civilisation, as water was considered a precious commodity.
For Rubinetterie Treemme, designer Massimiliano Braconi was inspired by the classic public fountains of the past from which water gushed out through a simple copper pipe.
