Designed by Mario Bellini in the 1970s, the brand's new outdoor collection is reborn while retaining the magic of rattan

Iconic pieces by the great masters of design have always been the protagonists of re-editions and re-interpretations. They already have a history, an audience, a market, and are just waiting to be rediscovered, re-proposing those values that time has never undermined. The challenge is to preserve the original design while giving the product a new reason to live. This is what &B Italia has done with the new Softcage outdoor collection by Mario Bellini.

Revisiting the past

B&B Italia revisits the past with a 1975 design by Mario Bellini, whose avant-garde vision opened up new horizons in the use of rattan as a valuable material for furniture, combining bold shapes with timeless elegance.

The lens of innovation

Today the concept is reinterpreted through the lens of B&B Italia's innovation to create a collection that retains all the magic of handcrafted rattan mixed with a more contemporary aesthetic.

More comfort for the outdoors

A new interpretation that offers more comfort for outdoor spaces thanks to a cage-like structure made of 45 mm sections and 18 mm rods. The supporting structure also makes the shapes more gentle and ergonomic thanks to the base under the seat and the backrest, both inclined and suspended.

Colours and fabrics

B&B Italia's collection consists of a sofa in two sizes and an armchair, with a rattan structure in different colours: black, red and grey. The range of colours and fabrics makes it possible to personalise any outdoor space.
