The Veneto-based company celebrates 70 years of history with outdoor collections that are the result of special research into materials and details

Wide, soft and sinuous seats. Rounded, enveloping backrests. Perfectly designed ergonomics and subtle aesthetics, supported by metal feet. And then there are the large cushions with button-effect stitching that recall a classic imagery carried over into the contemporary. This is Ethos, the collection of sofas, armchairs and chaise longue by Valentini, a company that infuses its design with 70 years of manufacturing expertise.

Craftsmanship and vision for the future

It was 1954 when Sergio Valentini established in Campodarsego, in the Veneto region of the industrial boom, the company that was destined to become a leading player on the international furniture scene a few years later. Thus began a family history, in the best tradition of Italian design, a journey that still today weaves together craftsmanship and a vision of the future.

Research, comfort, elegance

Since then, thousands of sofas, armchairs and beds destined for homes all over the world have been produced in the factories in the province of Padua following a distinctive thread, which starts with the choice of the best materials and ends up in the homes for which those furnishings have been designed and manufactured, combining research, comfort and attention to elegance.

Passion and determination

This distinctive recipe turns 70 years old today: 'An important milestone and at the same time a new beginning,' says Fabio Valentini, Sergio's son and CEO of the company. "It is a time to celebrate our successes and to look to the future with confidence. This anniversary is an opportunity to renew our passion and determination".

Indoor and outdoor furniture

Over time, Valentini has been able to transfer its manufacturing expertise from the indoor dimension to that in contact with nature. Craftsmanship, in the company's history, is undoubtedly the mark that makes the difference, accompanied by technological innovation and the search for aesthetic languages that look to the contemporary and offer the possibility of personalising the furnishings of the various collections. Materials at the centre, therefore, with special expertise in their processing.

One collection, multiple compositions

Ethos, for example, one of the most interesting proposals in the catalogue, is the indoor and outdoor collection that lends itself to multiple compositions, from the most linear with a double fabric cushion, to the dormeuse version with an asymmetrical shape in refined black velvet, or even in a version with a peninsula and support bases with small connections between elements of the same sofa. Specifically, the collection comprises armchair, chaise longue armchair, linear sofas with two to four seats, and curved sofas and dormeuses with three or four seats. In addition, side elements allow the creation to be completed according to one's preference.

Tailoring and attention to detail

As in every Valentini product, the utmost sartorial attention to detail is evident in Ethos. All components are made of solid poplar or fir wood for the parts with the greatest structural load and joined together with a concealed fastening system. The upholstery, in high-quality fabric and leather, is distinguished by a wide range of colours and demonstrates a perfect synergy between craftsmanship and technological innovation. Both fabrics and leathers are fully removable, stainable and washable, designed to last. All versions are available in fabric and leather designed for outdoor use.
