Milano Design City is a good opportunity to celebrate the anniversaries of historic Made in Italy products and companies

Model 904 was put into production in 1930. Renzo Frau designed it with the diktats coming from the Bauhaus in mind: no unnecessary details and ornaments. Thus was born a simple, compact armchair, yet of great elegance and perfect for bourgeois homes. Vanity Fair, so named in 1984 to pay homage to the famous magazine, turns 90 and Poltrona Frau celebrates it with a redesign by Roberto Lazzeroni. It is a downsized version that of 2020, more suited to the contemporary lifestyle. The idea is that the model will live for another 90 years. The store in via Manzoni, in these days of Milano Design City, presents The future of heritage. In addition to the Vanity Fair XC, a series of important re-editions with innovative materials and unprecedented formal solutions.

Frette, the historic Italian lingerie brand, also celebrates 160 years in 2020. The brand has a fascinating history, full of anecdotes. Its products are everywhere, from the altar of St. Peter to the dining room of the Titanic. Recently, the Hotel Danieli in Venice turned to Frette for its new linen supply: a proposal from 1899 re-emerged from the archives, which was then selected by the hotel itself. In the Milanese store in via Manzoni, the Album 05 collection is on display these days: linen, accessories and loungewear produced in more than two hundred Italian artisan workshops.
