Organic shapes, noble materials and craftsmanship: this is how Raphael Navot works, designer of the year at Maison&Objet Paris for the January '23 edition

Maison&Objet 2023's designer of the year is Israeli: Raphael Navot.

Born in Jerusalem in 1977, Raphael Navot studied at the Design Academy in Eindhoven before settling in Paris.

After working with David Lynch on the Parisian nightclub project Silencio, he dedicated his focus to interior projects and design.

Navot collaborates with Roche Bobois for the Nativ collection, with sculptural and primitive furnishings, and with Loro Piana Interiors for a line of sofas, armchairs, coffee tables where craftsmanship is brought to its maximum expression.

The creative process of Raphael Navot is based on the search for a timeless design, beyond fashions and trends, with a strong inspiration from the natural world, its shapes and materials.

He loves working in close contact with the best atelier and craftsmen in Europe, whose manual approach and savoir-faire make furnishings and finishes unique.

In particular for the interiors of hotels such as the Belle Plage hotel in Cannes and the National des Arts et Metiers hotel in Paris.

For Maison&Objet he creates The Apothem Lounge, an installation with curved walls and twelve portals that invite the viewer to immerse themselves in a sensory experience, made up of lights and material textures.
