Founded in 1994, the integrated design company celebrates with a wealth of novelties

260 million square metres of master plan, 40 million square metres built of which 7 million square metres for offices, 4 thousand projects in over 20 countries, 1,500 clients, 200 architects, engineers and designers, 78 international prizes and awards, 7 offices worldwide. These are the numbers of what Progetto CMR has achieved in its first 30 years of activity. Founded in 1994, Progetto CMR, an integrated design company in Italy, is celebrating 30 candles with the completion of several important projects (including The Sign business district developed in Milan by Covivio), more than 150 works including contracts awarded and in progress.

What's boiling in the pot

More than 30 active construction sites: among them, the new Department of Medicine at the University of Udine, the Harmonic Innovation Hub at Entopan in Calabria, RI.MED Research Centre for Biotechnology and Biomedics in Palermo, the Olympic Village in Porta Romana for the Milan-Cortina 2026 Winter Games, for which Progetto CMR is in charge of work management. The establishment of Progetto CMR Saudi is on the home stretch: the company, which will be based in Riyadh and operate in the field of integrated design in the Saudi market, will be 51% owned by Progetto CMR International and 49% owned by SICO, a real estate development company operating in Saudi Arabia.

The word goes to founder Massimo Roj

‘Progetto CMR in these 30 years of activity has operated according to the InsideOut approach, a method that focuses on the human being and the design process that satisfies his needs, from the inside out, and that can be applied from small to large scale,’ explains architect Massimo Roj, CEO and founder of Progetto CMR. ‘The integrated design we apply is based on environmental, social, and governance considerations, now identified in ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance), which represent the focal point from which the work of the designer starts, contributing to shaping the transformations of the contemporary world by tracing future scenarios’.

Business Units

Today, Progetto CMR is composed of several business units: Healthcare Design, Product Design, Retail Design, Workspace Design that work in synergy with teams specialised in Building Design, Engineering & Construction, Interior Design and Healthy & Safety to follow the development of the project in all phases from the feasibility study to realisation. The portfolio of projects in the Hospitality field is growing, with interventions for the Hotel Puccini in Milan, and Student Housing such as the new Student Residence for the University of Milan in Via Muzio Attendolo Sforza.
