From this synergy was born Officina Design , a laboratory of ideas and activities, which includes editorial series, merchandising projects, but also events and readings related to production and creativity, industry and sustainability. The design of the bookshop and the café next door, made entirely of copper , an antibacterial and easily recyclable material, was curated by Marco Ferreri who set up the spaces with identical furnishings, defined in their functions only by the objects they exhibit.

The collaboration with ADI - Association for Industrial Design includes two recently released volumes, including the one dedicated to theTake Your Seat/Prendi posizioneexhibition exhibited in September at the Supersalone in four pavilions of the Fair, with an extra section inside the ADI Design Museum.

Triennale Milano

Another consolidated relationship is that of the  Triennale for which Electa recently published the catalog of the permanent collection of the Museum of Italian Design of the Triennale Milano. The volume accompanies the renovation of the museum, presented in July 2021, in which a selection of iconic objects from 1946 to 1981 (among the 1,600 of the museum) is exhibited, a time span considered by critics to be among the most important in the history of Italian design.

Drawings and sketches

Finally, an unprecedented study on the planning of an architect returned from a small but brilliant corpus of drawings and sketches.

It is Sketches maps sceneries, the new volume by Electa that presents a selection of drawings made over the years by Ico Migliore, co-founder with Mara Servetto of the studio Migliore + Servetto Architects, divided into sketches, maps and scenarios, which reconstruct his creative process, from the conceptual sphere to the concreteness of the graphic representation on paper, where all the projects take shape.

Numerous themes are addressed that are intertwined with the architect's professional and private life: from the importance of drawing, seen as an essential tool for the synthesis of creative thought, to the centrality of the human figure, a constant presence in the body of work; from the search for light to the relationship between text and image, in which the value of the written word, in the form of personal notes, comments and quotations accompanying the drawing, becomes an integral part and 'narrative' tool.

The volume, in two languages Italian and English, was presented at the FuoriSalone 2021, inside the Muji store in Corso Buenos Aires 36, at the same time as a special installation that occupied the ground floor.
