After the introductory essays, XXX-Y 30 years of FuoriSalone hosts a review of the events that have taken place over the last 30 years, presented in chronological order in three large chapters (1990-1999, 2000-2009, 2010- 2019).

The book also dedicates a chapter to the Eighties and the anticipatory events of the FuoriSalone and focuses on the origins of the event: on that “Milano Designer's Week” born in 1990 by will of Gilda Bojardi and INTERNI, later renamed FuoriSalone and evolved through the explosion of temporary districts into the urban festival that we all know.

“XXX-Y 30 years of FuoriSalone (ed. Electa) was born three decades after the first event which, on the initiative of Interni, involved the venues in a structured way Milanese designers, to add the historical and analytical perspective that was missing from the FuoriSalone phenomenon", writes Gilda Bojardi in the preface of the book.

“The FuoriSalone is the story of today, but certainly in the future it will be studied as a phenomenon that has profoundly affected urban morphology and the extraordinary evolution that, over the years, has projected the city into an international dimension” .

A totally spontaneous phenomenon that still today represents a cultural, spectacular and market model copied all over the world. Based on a successful mix of performances, installations, exhibitions and experimental expressions, it has become an integral part of a recognized educational and design training process.
