50 years and not hear them: the collection designed by Mario Bellini in 1972 returns to Design Week 2022

Beauty, memory and sustainability. These are the three keywords of the new collections of B&B Italia which, in the completely renovated Flagship Store of via Durini 24, among the novelties signed by Piero Lissoni (such as the armchair Pochette and the coffee table Planck) presents the re-edition of the historic Le bambole collection, designed in 1972 by Mario Bellini.

A collection of upholstered items, which in appearance are reminiscent of large cushions assembled randomly and which, in 1979, won the Compasso d'Oro.

50 years after its creation, the collection returns for the FuoriSalone 2022 and we find it renewed starting from the basic elements: the Bambola armchair, the two-seater sofa Bibambola, the double bed Bamboletto.

Added to this is the three-seater sofa which has been updated to meet today's needs, with a deeper seat that has earned it the name Granbambola.

In addition to the appearance, comfort is guaranteed by the latest generation construction elements that make the product even more sustainable because it is removable and recyclable: from second-life polyethylene to the use of PET recycled.

The upholstery also changes with Sila, a new sandblasted fabric available in eight colors; Manila, a floral print characterized by large classic-looking roses that create a fun and successful contrast with the contemporary shape of the collection; and Kasia, a soft and supple full-grain leather.

Finally, a gem: to celebrate the first collaboration with the fashion world that unites B & amp; B Italia with Stella McCartney, here is a capsule of Dolls signed by the English designer.
