The new design perspectives of the brand and the evolution of the Cassina iMaestri Collection (which turns 50) on stage in the showroom in Via Durini

Cassina staged in his showroom in via Durini and in Palazzo Broggi (where the exhibition Echoes: 50 years of iMaestri curated by Patricia Urquiola will be staged) strong> with FedericaSala, which celebrates 50 years of the Cassina iMaestri Collection.

At Cassina the icons of the Modern, the collections of “established” designers such as Gaetano Pesce, Antonio Citterio and Patricia Urquiola join in fact with new names such as Barber Osgerby, Davide Oldani and Ico & Luisa Parisi, to name a few.

All the products are part of an increasingly conscious approach towards the environment and people which, undertaken for some years through the Cassina LAB , was born from the collaboration with the POLI.design of the Milan Polytechnic.

At the entrance to the showroom, the Risacca screen by Gaetano Pesce - work numbered from 1 to 9 - reproduces, thanks to Cassina's research and development work, the sound of the waves through a Bluetooth speaker positioned in one of the six burnished brass bases. Explains Pesce: “the object begins to express itself, in addition to the visual, also through another sense: hearing. Thus the functionality complements itself for a better expression.”

Citterio expands the Esosoft collection by bringing it from the living area to the sleeping area. From Cassina LAB research comes the bed frame in purifying fabric theBreath®, the first patented zero-emission air purification technology that captures and disintegrates substances.

Constantly evolving, this path around 'conscious' design opens up a new perspective on the design of upholstered furniture.

With the Moncloud system by Patricia Urquiola we are witnessing an important design advance for the furniture sector aimed at minimizing the use of polyurethane: its shapes are like 'sculpted' in recycled PET wadding.

This research work also includes the iconic pieces of Le Corbusier, Pierre Jeanneret and Charlotte Perriand, re-proposed this year with circular materials in the durable version.

To complete the vision of the Cassina house, the new lighting collection consists of a first catalog that brings together the projects of Tobia Scarpa, Philippe Starck, Linde Freya Tangelder (his is the Patronage project presented last year ), and a new collaboration with Italian designer Paolo Ulian who designed Fluxus-E. Next year will be the turn of the first Eames Lighting Collection, which will be created in close collaboration with the Eames Office and Form Portfolios.

Not to be missed Echoes: 50 years of iMaestri the exhibition curated by Patricia Urquiola with Federica Sala, which celebrates 50 years of the Cassina iMaestri Collection from 17 to 21 April 2023 at Palazzo Broggi.
