There is the Valextra “spa” where the artisans take care of the remise en forme of bags, they repair them, repaint and polish them and prolong their life, there is the literary club on female empowerment of Miu Miu, and there are the 24 artists hired by Loewe who masterfully play with the flexibility of bamboo, birch twigs and horsehair to create unique lamps.
On the occasion of the FuoriSalone 2024 the fashion houses do not just want to be there, but they want to leave their mark by giving us a significant experience with dense projects that often do not end during the days of the design week.

The brands tell and celebrate the artisans, the true, great protagonists of the fashion sector, propose research with a strong social, ethical and environmental commitment, experiment with materials - from factory waste to organic filaments for 3D printing - outline new, virtuous methods of production and consumption.
Numerous homages to the masters of design, such as the tribute from Loro Piana at CiniBoeri, the exhibition of Saint Laurent dedicated to Gio Ponti, the partnership between Bottega Veneta, Cassina and Fondation Le Corbusier, and the special editions of Gucci of cult furnishings and accessories such as the Le Mura sofa by Mario Bellini from 1972, reissued by Tacchini, and the Parola lamp by Gae Aulenti and Piero Castiglioni for FontanaArte in 1980.
There are many important initiatives, we have tried to summarize them in this selection which brings together twenty-one brands.
Guess

A visual and olfactory symphony of colours, lights and floral notes. It is the Iconic installation by Guess, an opportunity to learn about the new women's fragrance of the same name and the Guess Home furnishing accessories, accessories, candles, fragrances, diffusers and glasses.
“Inspired by my deep love for flowers, the event takes visitors on a journey of the senses, allowing them to experience the olfactory notes of the new Guess Iconic fragrance in a unique and engaging environment,” he explains Paul Marciano, creative director of Guess.
“An initiative made possible also thanks to our long-standing partnership with Interparfums”. On the occasion of the launch, the brand dresses the windows in pink and gold, with a maxi bottle of perfume emerging from a tapestry of organza petals. To remember the experience, visitors will receive a gift.
Loewe
Palazzo Citterio, via Brera 12

Loewe, the Spanish fashion house, spokesperson for artisanal savoir-faire, presents Loewe Lamps, at Palazzo Citterio from 15 to 21 April. An exhibition of floor, table and pendant lamps created by 24 international artists, each of whom explores and shapes light through the lens of their own practice.
There are those who play with the flexibility of bamboo, birch twigs and horsehair, those who experiment with the translucencies of paper and lacquered finishes, those who experiment with reflective contrasts between glass, leather and ceramic, while the shapes draw inspiration from natural and man-made objects, from lighters to hanging pumpkins.
Furthermore, Loewe presents ikebana vases, doorstops and paperweights in woven leather, together with other objects created with the artists, at Palazzo Citterio and in the shop on Via Montenapoleone.
Loro Piana Interiors

Numerous fashion houses are celebrating the masters of design on the occasion of the Fuorisalone 2024. Among these, Loro Piana with A tribute to Cini Boeri, a tribute to the vision and work of the great Milanese architect (1924-2020), in the year in which the centenary of her birth occurs and also that of the Loro Piana foundation.
In the Seta courtyard, in via della Moscova 33, from 16 to 21 April the installation designed with the Cini Boeri Archive: the protagonists are the furnishings designed by the architect for Arflex which for the occasion wear the precious fabrics by Loro Piana Interiors.
Pomellato
Pomellato Boutique, via San Pietro all'Orto 17

An installation that traces the history of the button from the 1960s to today, showing examples with bold shapes and noble materials.
It is Casa Pom Pom Dot by Pomellato, from 17 to 21 April, an exhibition of fashion, design, goldsmith art and precious gems, in collaboration with Secondo Stefano Pavese, button manufacturer since 1956.
From a functional accessory, the button becomes a precious double-sided talisman forged in rose gold, mother-of-pearl, malachite and diamonds, the protagonist of the new line of jewelery Pom Pom Dot by Pomellato, pendants, bracelets and earrings inspired by button motif already present in the maison's archive since 1974.

In the period between 1953 and 1957 Anala and Armando Planchart commissioned Gio Ponti to design their home in Caracas, Venezuela.
“This construction, like my other one in Caracas, Bianca Arreaza's villa, is a play of spaces, surfaces and volumes that offer different aspects to those who enter it”, wrote Gio Ponti in Domus in 1961, “it is a 'machina', or if you want an abstract sculpture on an enormous scale, not to be looked at from the outside, but to be looked at from inside, penetrating it and walking through it: made to be observed by continuously turning the eye (...), made for those who live there ”.
For this villa Gio Ponti even designs the plates, porcelain re-edited and protagonists of the exhibition Gio Ponti, Villa Planchart curated by Anthony Vaccarello, creative director of Saint Laurent, scheduled from 16 to 21 April in the Cloisters of San Simpliciano.

The New York luxury fashion house collaborates with Frette for Thom Browne by Frette: time to sleep, the expansion of the brand's home textile offering. The collection includes bed linen, bath towels, bathrobes, dressing gowns, gym towels and beach bags.
Among the novelties, the duvet cover sets and sheets in white cotton satin treated with the Frette method created in 1903 which enhances their softness and gives a light shine, and the light gray yarn-dyed velor cotton bathrobe, which is inspired by the classic trench coat and is finished along the cuffs and on the back of the neck with Thom's signature white, red and blue grosgrain ribbon Browne. Life is a game, even if sometimes we forget it. To remind us of this, Preview with Life is a game in collaboration with the Japanese artist Kei Takemura.
A collection that invites you to rediscover the simple pleasure of playing, which captures the joy and excitement of childhood and transmits the playful spirit of the spring/summer 2024 proposal of the fashion house founded and directed by Izumi Ogino.
The project is inspired by "Playing Cards-Memories and stories overlaid on playing cards", the works of the Tokyo artist created from old playing cards, which are reborn thanks to his imagination. On the occasion of the opening, on April 15th, in the Anteprima shop in Corso Como, Kei Takemura's pictorial performance on wallpaper printed and produced by Inkiostro Bianco.
Bottega Veneta

Last February, on the occasion of the winter 2024 fashion show, Bottega Veneta involved Cassina and Fondation Le Corbusier for the seating of the show, featuring a special edition of Le Corbusier's LC14 Cabanon tabouret in a special burnt wood finish, inspired by a traditional Japanese technique that protects the wood naturally, reveals the grain and makes each stool a unique piece from the series.
Bottega Veneta continues its partnership with Cassina and Fondation Le Corbusier with the installation On The Rocks, from 16 to 20 April at Palazzo San Fedele, under the creative direction of Matthieu Blazy, with the legendary special edition nomad seat available for purchase alongside a new limited edition tribute in four colours and woven leather, distinctive Bottega Veneta workmanship, handmade by artisans in the Montebello Vicentino atelier.

Jade

From the catwalks to the home. Fashion and design are contaminated in fruitful projects such as Floral Lexicon by Giada, a capsule collection of tableware developed with the Locatelli&Partners studio and made by Chinese master craftsmen of Jingdezhen, the city of porcelain.
The collection consists of a plate, bowl and cup in white porcelain, created according to an ancient technique which involves the insertion of decorations into the thickness of the porcelain.
The three table pieces are decorated with stylized flowers borrowed from Giada's spring/summer 2024 garments, designed by the brand's creative director Gabriele Colangelo. “The innovative aspect of these three pieces is their size,” says Locatelli.
"They are a combination of the larger European dimensions and the smaller Chinese ones. They are perfect for an Italian dinner, but also for a Chinese lunch. The cup, in fact, it can preserve the warmth of a tea or the freshness of a sparkling wine. The bowl can be used for pasta or steamed rice, and the plate for everything else."

From an idea by Sabato De Sarno, creative director of Gucci, with the installation by Guillermo Santomà and the curatorship of Michela Pelizzari, Gucci Design Ancora, a special edition of five cult design objects.
The protagonist works are: the Le Mura sofa by Mario Bellini for Tacchini, from 1972, reissued in 2022, the Clessidra carpet with pattern of strong>Portaluppi presented by cc-tapis this year, the Storet chest of drawers by Nanda Vigo for Acerbis strong> from 1994, reissued in 2020, the Opachi glass vases by Tobia Scarpa for Venini from 1960 and the Parola lamp by Gae Aulenti and Piero Castiglioni for FontanaArte in 1980.
Harmont&Blaine
Harmont&Blaine Boutique, Corso Matteotti 5

The striped fabrics of Harmont&Blaine, an Italian upper casual clothing and footwear company, are reinterpreted by the Italian-Peruvian artist Lorenzo Vitturi in Stripe Stories.
The Corso Matteotti store, like an art gallery, hosts the four sculptures created by Vitturi by combining fabrics, ropes, archive fabrics and recycled materials such as recycled shirts crafted by hand in a synthesis of organic and abstract forms, sinuous and bold volumes, lively polychrome combinations and dynamic graphics.
“This installation brings to the stage the unmistakable colors of Harmont&Blaine and my desire to create special objects that live and move in space” comments Lorenzo Vitturi, who will be present at the Venice Biennale immediately after the Salone del Mobile as part of the Glasstress exhibition, at the Berengo Art Space Foundation.

Every year, on the occasion of Design Week, Issey Miyake involves designers, artists and creatives who share the brand's and its founder's approach to design as something that sparks joy and curiosity to be shared with people.
For this edition, from 16 to 29 April, the maison collaborates with the Dutch collectiveWe Make Carpets for Fold andcreate, a series of installations created with everyday materials and apparently anonymous.
Among the works on display: a large "carpet" measuring 2 by 2 meters made up of thousands of wooden sticks, and small sponge works with infinite pins that give life to new patterns. The complexity and meticulous work of We Make Carpets is reminiscent of the mastery and craftsmanship of the Issey Miyake collections.
Longchamp

From April 18th to May 30th Longchamp will host the works of theStudio Högl Borowski, a Viennese designer duo formed by Stefanie Högl and Matthias Borowski, protagonists with their works, characterized by careful research on materiality and sensorial qualities, of a cross-industry dialogue between fashion, art and design.
On the occasion of the Milan Design Week, the French fashion house also presents the new store concept that it is creating in its network of single-brand stores around the world, elegant and refined, designed to offer customers an even more pleasant and engaging shopping experience.

The Milanese boutique of the high-end knitwear brand Lorena Antoniazzi is transformed into an art gallery with "Artist's Atelier... And we have to see the stars", an exhibition of contemporary art sculptures and paintings inspired by the stars, symbolic motif of the maison, created by artists Bruno Ceccobelli, Antonella Zazzera, Nunzio di Stefano and Mario Consiglio. A limited edition of designer t-shirts, in cotton and knit, will also be presented in the store, depicting four works among those of the artists on display.

Strength, harmony, love, delicacy, calm, lightness, energy and trust. These are the eight words which, together with the colored lights, illuminate the windows and interior of the Marella flagship store in Corso Vittorio Emanuele II from 12 to 21 April, also covering the external part in front of it in green.
The project, entitled Eden Unveiled, conceived by the Sicilian artist Domenico Pellegrino, is inspired by the myth of the birth of Spring as a force universal and regenerative, and condenses the commitment to women's empowerment launched by the clothing brand in 2022.
The Marella store was furnished by Et al. with the Ari chairs previewed at the Salone del Mobile.
Miu Miu

The first Literary Club, Writing Life, by Miu Miu, on 17 and 18 April at the Circolo Philologicalfrom 3pm to 9pm (registration on miumiu.com).
Two days focused on two classics of Italian literature: Una donna by Sibilla Aleramo from 1906, and Quaderno prohibito by Alba De Céspedes from 1952. The texts, available in a special packaging Miu Miu, testify to the power of writing as a creative medium that for centuries has allowed women to express themselves and affirm their ideologies.
The series of round tables, musical performances and poetry readings, curated by Olga Campofreda, involves Jhumpa Lahiri, winner of the 2000 Pulitzer Prize, Claudia Durastanti, finalist for the Premio Strega, the writer Sheila Heti, Viola Di Grado, winner of the Premio Campiello Opera Prima 2011, Selby Wynn Schwartz, selected for the Booker Prize, and Xiaolu Guo, novelist, memoirist and filmmaker. The panels are moderated by LouStoppard and ZinTsjeng.

Milan Central Station is transformed into an open-air tunnel. It is An invitation to dream by Moncler, curated by Jefferson Hack, filmed and photographed by Jack Davison , a maxi exhibition in which some of the personalities who inspire contemporary culture invite us to dream, through quotes and images shown on all the station's billboards and advertising screens.
Among the voices and faces of the cast: Daniel Arsham, Dr. Deepak Chopra, Isamaya Ffrench, Laila Gohar, Jeremy O. Harris, Francesca Hayward, Julianknxx, Ruth Rogers, Remo Ruffini, Rina Sawayama, Sumayya Vally and Zaya. “Dreams have accompanied me and Moncler since day one,” says Remo Ruffini, president and CEO of the company. “We have never stopped dreaming, being a source of inspiration and at the same time letting ourselves be inspired by others”.

Prada Frames returns to its third edition, from 14 to 16 April, the multidisciplinary symposium that investigates and reflects the complex interaction between environment and design. A moment of in-depth study and collective scientific, educational and informative discussion, open to all, upon registration on prada.com from 9 April.
The 2024 edition with the title Being Home focuses on the living dimension, a private setting from which to face the challenges of contemporaneity.
The symposium, curated again this year by Formafantasma, sees the contribution of scholars and professionals from different fields, including Jamaica Kincaid, Office Kersten Geers David Van Severen, Jack Halberstam, Anna Puigjaner, Alice Rawsthorn, Françoise Vergès, Brigitte Baptiste, Paola Antonelli and Isabella Rossellini.
Valextra
Valextra Boutique, via Manzoni 3

Valextra, an Italian artisan leather goods brand, participates in the design week with Valextra Vocabolario in collaboration with Studio Temp, a studio graphic designer from Bergamo.
A holistic project that includes the abstract and bold architectural installation in the minimalist store designed by John Pawson in 2019, the Iside Onda bag 3D printed with a biodegradable yarn derived from corn - a futuristic and curvilinear expression of the trapezoid design of the famous Iside bag conceived in 2011 - and Valextra spa, in the third room of the store, a playful space, a sort of wellness center where artisans take care of the remise en shapes of Valextra products, they clean, repair, polish, repaint and restore them, to extend their life cycle.
Among the new features also Valextra Assoluto, a new unisex capsule collection in regenerated nylon, and the takeover of all the windows of La Rinascente in Piazza Duomo.
Zegna

Zegna invites the public to experience Born in Oasi Zegna, an experience between art and nature, and among the pages of the new book of the same name (published by Rizzoli New York), which testifies to the maison's commitment to people and the environment since its foundation in 1910.
The volume transports us to the Oasi Zegna, a natural reserve that extends for one hundred square kilometers among the Biella Alps where at the beginning of the last century Ermenegildo Zegna undertook a vast program of reforestation and development of the local community which today has more than 500 thousand trees. Visitors will be given a limited edition totebag featuring illustrations from the book.
To tell the story of the project, Zegna will also do a takeover of the windows of the Rizzoli store in Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, and of the windows of the Zegna store in via Montenapoleone. Finally, two Born in Oasi Zegna newsstands: in Via dei Giardini, and in Piazza del Duomo where Zegna is a partner of the Municipality of Milan for the redesign and care of the flowerbeds for the next three years.
