A selection of the most interesting kitchens to see in the Rho exhibition spaces and in the showrooms in the city

From the (many) outdoor kitchens, which have nothing to envy of indoor solutions, but are actually more robust for living outdoors all year round, to the super-equipped compositions which borrow materials and technologies from the professional catering sector, to architectural kitchens, scenographic and convivial which open up and intermingle with the living room, stages with variable social arrangements where guests can be welcomed, prepared , eating, but also working, studying, entertaining.

Our selection, certainly not exhaustive and perfectible, of the most interesting innovations presented by the exhibitors of EuroCucina, in thepavilions 2 and4 of the Salone del Mobile in Milan, until April 21st at the Rho fair, and in the numerous showrooms that animate the city.

Proxima by Antonio Citterio for Arclinea

For those who want to amaze guests with starred recipes. It is Proxima, the hyper-equipped and professional kitchen by Antonio Citterio for Arclinea, a convivial and experimental place that integrates large appliances Americans (it is also available in the smaller European version).

“I designed this kitchen with a living space in mind,” explains Antonio Citterio. “The kitchen as a space to be shared, not segregated, for service, has always been one of the great topics of Arclinea, of my work with Arclinea. Proxima should refer to this idea, immediately provide a use scenario, where everything is extremely performance and evocative of the pleasure of cooking for others , to prepare with others. Proxima is an object to be used, to be dirty, a very communicative, empathetic product."

In the shop window on via Durini Proxima is presented together with Hortus, the piece of furniture for the hydroponic cultivation of aromatic herbs and small vegetables.

Novanta by Piero Lissoni for Boffi

Ninety, like the years Boffi has just turned. It is the novelty of Piero Lissoni, who says: “Novanta is a very architectural kitchen designed on a different scale, almost as if it were a buildingsuspended.

It is made up of horizontal elements, the islands on which you work, and perpendicular containing elements, just like a city that develops both horizontally and vertically. >. We have thus left the world of design products to enter that of architectural products."

Prime by Molteni&C, R&D Dada Engineered design

It fully expresses the potential of a kitchen with a groove opening. It is Prime designed by the Dada Engineered R&D department of Molteni&C, customizable and configurable to meet multiple aesthetic, space and use needs.

A sophisticated and scenographic architectural system, with wider and more capacious drawers, with Vionaro movement with patented anodized aluminum side, Dine snack table, and three-dimensional lacquered effect doors obtained thanks to a stratification process of a particular resin thermoformed inside a mold.

The ever-increasing attention towards the world of outdoor furniture is also demonstrated by the boom in kitchens designed for preparing outdoors all year round. Super-equipped and refined solutions that have nothing to envy of interior compositions, indeed, they are even more resistant and robust because they are made of rain, sun and humidity-proof materials. An example? Land by Poliform, a modular composable solution equipped with all the equipment for en plein air preparations, with satin steel barbecue, practical support surfaces in teak, washing area, trolleys, accessory trays, spice containers, cutting boards and storage drawers.

K-Garden by Giuseppe Bavuso for Ernestomeda

Numerous outdoor kitchens were the protagonists of the Milanese design week. Among the new features, K-Garden by Giuseppe Bavuso for Ernestomeda, an evolution of the K-Lab project, a kitchen informal, modular and customizable, made up of practical equipped workbenches and multifunctional stations with plates, grills, barbecues and everything needed for outdoor lunches and dinners under the stars.

Aura of Arredo3

She is part of the large group of Aura outdoor kitchens by Arredo3, presented at a prototype level in the showroom in via Solferino.

With doors, sides, backs and feet in aluminum and top in steel or in the very thick material variant in Laminam with flamed gray Piasentina stone effect.

A kitchen which, after use, can be closed to hide burners and washing, with a basin with lid and integrated folding mixer and gas burners and grill with folding lid.

Vertical, Bilico Pietra and Glass by Carlo Presotto and Andrea Bassanello for Modulnova

Corso Garibaldi 99

Modulnova's research into the potential of materials and the Vertical, Bilico and Glass elements continues. Vertical, the vertical groove system for opening the door available in different modules of various widths, can be made with all the materials in the catalog and can be used in various company programmes.

Bilico, the monumental door in Silver Roots marble, reaches a height of 3 meters and 15 centimeters and can be used as a storage door, to pass between one environment and another or to hide a service space. Finally Glass, the new transparent glass doors that can be transformed into bases, wall units, columns and Bilico doors to create scenographic and display solutions, such as glass display cases and wine cellars.

Stylus of Spalvieri & Del Ciotto for Scavolini

More than a kitchen, a real furnishing system that also fits well in the bathroom, living room and home office. It is Stilo by Spalvieri & Del Ciotto for Scavolini. A sociological project that investigates and responds to our new way of living and dwelling.

“Today designing a kitchen means thinking about complex issues that go beyond perfecting ways of cooking, to embrace concepts such as the evolution of sociality, of the way of living in the home and of welcoming people and, more recently, of approaching at work”, explain the designers. The result is a tailor-made modular kitchen, dynamic and flexible, configurable based on space and needs, which encourages conviviality and meetings between people.

Wonder Landscape by Cumini Garcia for Cesar

Kitchens to show off like paintings. The couple formed by Cinzia Cumini and Vicente García Jiménez sign for Cesar Utopian Garden, a collection of hyper-realistic decorations inspired to nature. The first subject of the family is called Wonder Landscape and represents a dreamlike landscape that recalls refined nineteenth-century wallpapers and fabrics, but with photorealistic features, created with the support of artificial intelligence on MVi< /strong> by b, a glass surface digitally printed with natural minerals, characterized by a texture that plays with transparencies and translucencies.

Ak_Project by Franco Driusso for Arrital, update 2024

More than a kitchen, a complete architectural project, to create spaces that reflect us. It is the update and expansion of Ak_Project by Arrital, which offers customers, architects and designers a versatile and dynamic design platform, to create kitchens open to the living room, or, to the on the contrary, which are closed for those who prefer an intimate environment distinct from the rest of the house.

Those of Arrital are not glossy cover sets, but eleven real, experienced settings that really look at and respond to people's needs, investigate how and where they live, interpreting their personalities, tastes and desires. The plus: the many smart details, from the Up-Down system, to easily reach the high wall units, to the sliding table that allows two distinct environments to communicate with each other, to the air-conditioned drawer for the optimal conservation of five bottles.

Mantle by Patricia Urquiola for Signature Kitchen Suite

In this top ten we have only considered kitchen brands, leaving out appliance manufacturers for reasons of space. However, a mention goes to Mantle, the undercounter convertible refrigerator by Patricia Urquiola for Signature Kitchen strong> Suite.

A free standing modular cabinet covered in Cimento tiles, a light cementitious compound obtained with natural components, in vanilla, blue, burgundy, green and sand colours.

A project that transforms the refrigerator into a sculptural piece of furniture that can live in the center of the room in the kitchen, but also in the living room, in the bedroom and, why not, even in the bathroom.
