Molteni&C crowns the successes of the first day of the Salone del Mobile.Milano by celebrating, with a parterre of exclusive guests, the 90th anniversary and the launch of the book “Molteni Mondo. An Italian Design Story”

The exclusive location Pirelli HangarBicocca, a former industrial building once home to a factory for the construction of locomotives, which with a surface area of 15,000 square metres is one of the exhibition spaces largest horizontal development in Europe, was the scene of this exclusive event.

A long black carpet, illuminated by suggestive lights, welcomed guests through an immersive journey with visual and sound effects inspired by the magical atmosphere of film sets, powered by spotlights that reveal the Molteni&C logo, recalling the cinematic style of the monograph.

Inside the exhibition space, with the permanent work of Anselm Kiefer The Seven Heavenly Palaces 2004-2015, a monumental installation made up of seven reinforced concrete towers which has become one of the most iconic works of the city of Milan, a special installation composed of two maxi multimedia boxes which projected some shots of the book.

During the dinner, an evocative modern dance performance, coordinated by the choreographer Thomas Signorelli, entertained the guests seated at an imposing table designed by Vincent Van Duysen , delighting them with fluid and ethereal movements, playing with lights and spaces.

Among the guests of Carlo Molteni, president of the Group, and the Molteni family, some of the most famous names in international design who have collaborated with Molteni&C, such as the Director Creative Vincent Van Duysen, leading figures from the world of fashion design and publishing, such as Beda Achermann, Jeff Burton and Spencer Baileyrespectively art director, photographer and curator of the editorial project, and a selection of architects, socialites, press, artists and gallery owners, Flagship Stores and customers from all over the world.

At the end of the dinner, an exclusive after party began with a DJ set curated by Matteo Ceccarini. The vibrant atmosphere offered guests a unique experience, where the enveloping music and contagious energy contributed to making the moment unforgettable, actively involving the entire audience.

The volume published by Rizzoli New York traces the identity, relationships with architects and designers, history, symbols and distinctive characters of the company founded in 1934 in Giussano by Angelo Molteni and today an independent and global industrial group, leader in high-end furniture.

An overview of a history of Made in Italy, which has at its center the collaborations with the main protagonists of the world of design - Vincent Van Duysen, Ron Gilad, Jacques Herzog, Jasper Morrison, Jean Nouvel, Tobia Scarpa and Patricia Urquiola, to name a few - the places of the Giussano Compound, in Brianza, where the Headquarter is located with its community, the production processes and technological innovations, the craftsmanship and the sustainability, the most significant prototypes and collections, contract projects and stores around the world, the archive and the museum.
