The scale model of Padiglione Zero in the Hall of the Aula Magna offers a preview of the structure that will welcome visitors to the Expo, created by Davide rampello, Michele De Lucchi an Giancarlo Basili

Expo milano 2015 enters the spaces of the state university with energy for creativity, for which it is the co-producer, and brings a vivid preview, presenting a scale model of padiglione zero. The structure will welcome visitors to the expo site, presenting a summary of the themes of nutrition.

Padiglione zero is the result of collaboration between Davide Rampello, curator, with the architect Michele De Lucchi and the set designer Giancarlo Basili. Davide rampello explains that the pavilion ‘offers a story that starts from the memory of humankind, traces the evolution of its relationship with nature – from the action of taming the animal and vegetable world to the invention of tools and forms of conservation – all the way to the major contradictions of contemporary nutrition.”

As Michele De Lucchi illustrates, “padiglione zero reproduces a piece of the earth’s crust raised off the ground. Diagramming the contour curves, it reproduces the earth’s surface with mountains, hills and a large central valley.”

Inside, different conceptual areas accompany visitators to discover the theme of feeding the planet, energia for life. “padiglione zero offers an experience of a voyage to the center of the earth,” de lucchi adds, “where visitors literally enter the earth, looking at it from the inside, which is certainly an unusual experience.”

Padiglione Zero, at the entrance to the Expo Milano 2015 site, welcomes visitors, introducing the themes of the exposition: a scale model of the building will be shown in the Hall of the Aula Magna. The curator is Davide Rampello, the designer the architect Michele De Lucchi; installations by Giancarlo Basili.
