With all the authentic and elegant charm of the Amalfi Coast, this residence combines hyper-minimalist interiors and a meticulous 'gentle' landscape design project characterized by 7 gardens and 7 terraces

We are in the beating heart of the Amalfi Coast: there, where spectacular landscapes and good food (but not only) meet and become a source of pride for Italians and envy for the rest of the world.

Not far from Amalfi, in a more private area surrounded by nature full of color, there is a residence called 'Casa del Capitano' which overlooks the Conca de Marini, a small town of only 667 inhabitants which, together with all the other towns on the coast, was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1997.

Surrounded by 12,000 m2 of land organized in vegetable gardens and lemon groves arranged in terraces, seen from the outside (and from afar) it looks like a modest building with a tower, which almost risks going unnoticed: it would never seem that it houses seven terraces and as many private gardens.

It was discovered and restructured by Elisabetta Vanuzzo and Gianluca Spolverato, both founders and owners of BE. Your Private View, a new form of hospitality that allows the visitor to enjoy exclusive places with a private view, in which to experience a rediscovered rhythm of the passing of time.

Curvy interiors

Arranged on three levels, the central body is characterized by a project of hyper-minimal interior design and yet complicit with the surrounding landscape.

All the environments share a clear palette, capable of amplifying the natural light that pervades the spaces. Creamy tones dominate, together with a small but punctual selection of evocative textures: the materials chosen for the accessories, which catch the eye in this candid canvas, make explicit immediately a sweet harmony with the natural landscape in which the residence is immersed.

The contemporary and openly renewed character of the interiors does not, however, compromise its welcome: it is the soft and all-round shapes of the furnishings that act as convicts of a synergistic dialogue between these two poles.

For indoor environments, the goal was to combine respect for the environment and the predilection for quality design with an Italian, responsible signature, deriving from virtuous production processes and low impact.

A 'gentle' landscape design project

To outline the look and feel of the seven private gardens and terraces of the house, the BE. Your Private View relied on the expertise of the Milanese architect and landscape architect Marco Bay, who studied a 'gentle' landscape design project for the occasion . What does it mean? Bay says: "It is a place of such extraordinary and evocative beauty that it arouses the fear of ruining the allure of this unspoiled nature".

Therefore, in order to fully respect the place hosting the project, the architect reasoned on the tradition of the place, starting from the idea of a private descent towards the sea, surrounded by open-air spaces differed from each other in terms of visual impact: "I also added some botanical experiments, a dreamlike element that transports you to distant places. Without overdoing it, I likes to leave such authentic marks on the territory that they seem to have always been there".

The seven gardens have also been designed on the basis of low maintenance of the greenery: the references between one and the other are numerous, for example Bay has preferred the inclusion of plants native , to be placed alongside the pre-existing and preserved shrubs and trees.

In the background, the protagonist of everything, the sea.
